I absolutely love this!! Have you thought about doing an indoor shoot with UV lights, so you have more control over the color change? You may be able to capture the "splotch" effect like in the movies!

This was such a great project! As you move in and out of the light it actually looks like the scene in the end of the animated movie where it's changing from pink to blue every few seconds. I didn't realise it could happen so fast, it's honestly magical!

I love this so much!!!! It’s so unique because it actually does change colors like magic. I have always seen people do this in duo chrome or in two different colors of fabric, and many of them are wonderful. But this one is a step above them all because it actually changes between the two right in front of your eyes. (Not to mention, it’s made by you, so it is very well done.) It’s going to be so amazing at the con. Please post a short or two of people reacting to it, if you can. I can’t wait to see the final updated version once you make the changes you want to make.

Amazing, the best possible use I could imagine for a UV sensitive dye! You look like such a romantic princess, love it! The best showcasing of the change was when you moved your hair off your shoulder or when you turned while in full sunlight - moving from shadow to sun had a less impressive effect, at least in video :) I bet it looks a 100 times more magical in person!

The whole dress is magical. I need to get some of that dye asap! I want to make the animated movie version. About the wrinkles...maybe you could steam iron the skirt? It's usually more gentle than normal iron and you can iron big surfaces more quickly too. Anyway, the dress turned amazing and you look so cute and magical as Aurora!!

I was wondering if this dye would be suitable for canvas shoes. I noticed you painted the dye onto your shoes and it seemed to work perfectly. The company that makes the dye recommended I use the Angelus Neutral shoe Paint mixed with the solar drops. But I am concerned it may make my canvas stiff since the shoe paint is mostly used for leather shoes. Any thoughts?

Hi i actually got this same exact dye and i have some questions. I REALLY want to try dying habotai silk with this dye and im not sure it'll take since its an animal fiber. When you test on fabrics could you include a sample of habotai silk? If not, do you think its worth a try scine it worked on synthetic dye? And if so, any tips?

You could try dyeing a piece of the fabric you already have to test it, try cutting a small part to dye before trying the whole thing

Why can’t we iron after we dye the fabric? Does it ruin the uv effect?

Ok I tried this and it didn't work. :( I thought it did, but when I washed it the dress came out white. This is what I did. Died polyester fabric and let it air dry. The next day I threw it in the wash by itself on delicate with cold water. I added a little soap. Was that a mistake? Should I have done no soap and let it air dry? I am so sad! This was supposed to be my nieces Christmas present. Any advice you can give would be most helpful!
