Good advice. The biggest thing that holds me back is the fear of failure. Trying to do what I set out to do and failing the task. I'm trying my best to overcome that, it's a struggle.

We've all been there. Fear of failure is a hard one to overcome but you'll get there. Once you realize that the worst case scenario really isn't that big of a deal, you'll break through. :)

I LOVE that book! I read it years ago (and I was so good to hear that it wasn’t just me.) I’m tempted to give it another read, but instead, I’m going to just get started on experimenting some more with Shapr3D for iPad. If you have an iPad Pro, Shapr3D is crazy fast for doing quick concepts and form studies. I use Modo and Fusion360 most frequently. Shapr3D will import and export all the necessary file types. But when learning a new app, I watch a ton of videos (and don’t usually follow along, modeling in the app) and still feel somewhat intimidated about starting. (I suppose if I followed along, that would be starting... and we can’t have That.) I’ll noodle around a bit, make something kind of crappy, and something kind of okay, feeling resistance all along the way. But if I keep at it, and work with it long enough, things start to feel more natural and start to happen faster. Which means I can make mistakes faster. Which means I can avoid mistakes better as I go. Which means I can have more success and drop into that zone of hyper focus and before I know it, hours have gone by I’ve made some cool stuff. I can imagine getting to a point (within the new week or two of practice) where Shapr3D feels as natural as sketching on paper. Well... time to get started. Thanks Warren!

Wow, Shapr3D looks AMAZING! If I had an iPad, I would absolutely get that. Looks like MOI and SketchUp had a baby ...

Thank you. I'm like for a year in personal project, it's final form is known. Make a model of a known house in unreal is no big thing to think how. But it's done in 20% yet.

Yep, you can think about it forever but it's not getting any closer to completion. Do 1 small thing per day on it. After a few weeks, it'll be a large chunk. You got this. :)
Haha, true ... And that's valid. Some people will scour YT for hours, looking for an answer or a workflow instead of just trying it and learning as they go. Resistance.

Warren...just stop already! You with your "logic" and "common sense" and all that stuff! C'mon man...you're gonna force me to actually do, you know...wo....ahem...wor…..ahhh...woooorrr……*cough cough*… WORK! Sorry, hard to even say that word. Took a while to remember how to say it. Geez. Now I'm gonna go do some 'work' when I WAS going to just chill all day and play Ravenhurst mod for 7 Days 2 Die. Great. THANKS Warren! ...slave driver!... ;)
