My brother had the privilege to run with the torch on the way to Sydney back in 2000. It was awesome. Ian has done much for sport in the small community he lived in and was rewarded with that experience. That sequence in the Athens opening ceremony was so elegantly done.

Because it shows respects, its original culture and ROOTS from where it all began! Absolutely stunning. Except that ancient greek statues (that they try to portrait here) from marble or stone were very heavily coloured at those ancient days. We just see them white because all colours faded away with so much time passed. Same with ancient Roman statues.

Мне тогда было 13 лет,греки выиграли чемпионат Европы по футболу,и провели шикарную олимпиаду,смотрел открытие с восхищением,традиции,каноны,история,эстетика,невозможно остаться равнодушным,хорошо что есть люди которые загружают такие видео в интернет,очень приятно было посмотреть и вспомнить,особенно после открытия игр в Париже🥴

@@AJolie009 that was the proposal of the ex prime minister and president of greece konstantinos karamanlis and thats why he made the olympic athletic centre of athens at late 70's-early 80's, it wouild also be sustainable bc the stadiums would be paid off once and companies around the world would contribute financially
