I like the table topper with 4. Then small runner with the rest then they match. I have a question, i have the same machine do u always piece at 1.8 stich length?
@SewtheDistance
@SewtheDistance 11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Great question. I used to piece at 2.4, but I took a class a few months ago and now piece at 1.8-2, depending on the size of the pieces. I find the smaller stitch length helps hold it together better at the ends. Hope this helps! 🥰

Orange thread, and how many rows for a throw?5x10?
@SewtheDistance
@SewtheDistance 5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Orange is my favorite color. ❤️ If you mean 5 squares across and 10 rows down, you would have a quilt around 42" x 84" (long and skinny). To make that size, you would need (216) 5" squares. I hope this helps! For more sizes, check out my blog that accompanies this video. I have it all listed out at the end of the blog for 23 different sizes. Here's a link: www.sewthedistance.com/blog/one-charm-pack-table-runner If I can help more, please let me know. Happy to help! Thank you so much for watching!

Currently making this in a Christmas pattern for our table. I was wondering if you could expand on when talking about the Halloween piece, you said you quilted it separately and then put the back on in a way there is no binding. Binding is always the point where I struggle so looking for other techniques or ways to finish a piece.
@SewtheDistance
@SewtheDistance 10 ай бұрын
Sure! For the Halloween one, I placed the table runner top on batting with the right side of the runner facing up. I then quilted it without a backing. Then I placed the backing on the quilted piece, right sides together, and sewed around the edges, leaving an opening for turning. Next, I turned the runner right sides out, pressed, and top stitch it to secure the edges and to close up the opening. I explain this technique on a quilt in this video, if you need to see a visual: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5m2mGtuordlmNksi=SmhpDD-6jImZD_uW Hope this helps!

Very fall looking. The colors actually remind me of fabric from the 1960's and 1970's. Lots of brown and orange calico. By the way, the metal tray you have is similar to one my mother had. Memories!

Super Cute. I was volunteered to be the QOV POC for our guild. I have a sit n sew this Saturday. Veteran's Day! I think I will get the ladies to cut this pattern out for a quilt using a layer cake! My ladies like big squares so we can churn out more beautiful quilts. Our State of Alabama has a waiting list of nearly 300 folks awaiting a quilt from QOV. Can't wait to show them your video! ❤

I think a brown thread would also be good. The brown fabric stands out to me. I am looking forward to your Christmas MSQC advent calendar unboxing. It was fun to watch last yr. I don't get their box , but enjoy watching and seeing the projects you make.

I love watching you and just how much you love sewing; it is infectious! 😊🥰 I am always excited for my next project after watching you. I would definitely cross-hatch quilt this project in orange thread; what a beautiful idea. I think I would leave this a table runner, but I do think it would make an excellent Christmas quilt with basic big print Christmas fabric. 🎄

I’m definitely going to try this! I have two orphans charm packs that haven’t found a home yet. So they are destined to be a baby quilt. I loved the look on point, so I’ll cut some setting triangles from a solid. Thanks for adding directions for a larger project!!

I love this pattern you created and can’t wait to try it. I bought yardage (on sale) of my favorite Dawn on the Prairie prints. I agree that the colors are beautiful. I don’t care for charm packs due to their size inconsistency, so I bought a 5-inch square ruler to square up the fabrics in the couple of charm packs I have. Can’t wait to try your pattern.

That was fun. What a great idea. I have two charm packs that I bought ages ago because they were on a throw out table at my local sewing machine shop. They were such a good price that I couldn't resist even though I had no idea what to do with them. So now I have some food for thought. I fiddled with my phone and found how to change to black and white, another lesson learnt! I have to make a Christmas present for my Sewing Guild. Might think more seriously about this.
