Thanks for your honest review of Roadie 3. Our CTO has gotten in touch with you to send you a replacement Roadie 3 to test out as it seems that the unit you have is defective and its tuning performance really isn't up to standard. We hope you'll get to experience Roadie 3 as it should be and send us your feedback!

you must have gotten a defective unit 'cause I received mine today and it paired/connected without issues with my Android phone. Also, the tuner kicks ass and works flawlessly on my Les Paul. Couldn't believe how quickly I can change my setup from one setting to the next with this. Awesome!

There was an issue with my unit. Also there was a bug with LG series phones that was causing the app connectivity issues. They have worked with me to fix it. My new unit does pretty well. I plan to make a new video.

The Roadie tuned my 4 guitars within 5 minutes... The best thing since sliced bread.

It does ok for me at home. Extremely slow in a live setting with noise.

Thanks Doc., any updates from Roadie? I play 12 string dropped to C and capo a bunch and tune with the capo on. Think it would work with a capo? Great video!

I did do a part 2, they haven't had much to say since. I still think it needs some work. I can tune faster without it than with it.

Have you tried the Jowoom? Trying to decide between the two.

No I’ll check that out!

Doctor can you check this for me? Standard C# tuning. My Roadie3 got it wrong. It takes me on wrong octaves. Is it the same in yours?
@juk3b0xgr1m3 жыл бұрын
I ain't the doc but yeah, it's off. I adjusted the tuning for C# Standard in the App and synced with the Roadie. It needs to be C#2 F#2 B2 E3 G#3 C#4. I don't play much Sabbeth so sisn't notice. Also, if you do custom tuning and the name of it doesn't change, the App won't sync the change. You have to create a copy of the tuning with a new name. Deleting tunings from the App will only cause the tuning to be moved to the end of the list in the device, even though it is no longer in the App. Kinda weird things but I think the App is a work in progress. Too bad yuo can't delete tunings from the device itself. Seems to be pointless. Oh well, everything else works great though which is the main purpose I use it for.

@@juk3b0xgr1m thank you. I confirm everything you said; it’s exactly my same finding. (I found the bug searching a tuning for Heart shaped box by Nirvana). Another experience for any tuning: if you put the tuner on the peg and THEN you pick the string, the machine will do many movements to tune the peg. But if you pick continuously the string BEFORE putting the tuner on the peg, and then put the tuner on the peg (still picking the string) it seems it will tune with less rotations, maybe with some advantages for the longevity of the tuner. Do you find it true in your experience?

@@m.r.4455 I found the winder is doing it right. it will hunt down to the required frequency, back off a bit and then tighten. This is what we are supposed to do: always finish with it tightened. I play alot of Rocksmith and always changing tunings which is why I got this. It is saving a lot of time for me compared to manually tune in game despite the glitches mentioned above with the App.

Also, if I'd have a fleet of guitars like Doc, I would have one tuned for each song but I only have the one axe :)

John at Band Industries just released a new firmware and Android App to fix the C# Standard. Hell Yeah :)
