Another great video, I'm now a happy subscriber! One thing I thought was that now that it's possible to post long videos to KZbin (10 hours or more), it would be great to film the front view of the truck during a long journey- I don't know if you're aware of the fairly recent advent of 'slow tv'- SBS did a series on trains- the Indian Pacific, The Ghan etc. You'd obviously edit out your breaks and any private moments, haha, but I find the effect really hypnotic. Anyway, it's just a thought. Loving the videos- both with road trains and caravan adventures. Cheers

I tried to watch some of the SBS train trip but found it too long and uneventful to keep me interested. We all have different likes in what we would like to watch though. There is so much I would like to film if I was permitted to do so as well as having the time during the trips to set up for the filming. My employer has been great allowing me to do what I do but there are so many restrictions from freight receivers along my trip which is fair enough.

I like watching your videos mate. I would love to get out west at some stage in my career and drive road trains. Currently a b-double driver on the east coast. I wish the roads here were as empty as the ones you drive along.
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 Жыл бұрын
I try to only film when the roads are empty as it is viewed as safer to do so but yes the roads have a lot less traffic than the east coast.

Was last on that stretch of highway between wilcania and cobar back in jan 2019. Was dry with Willie willies everywhere and about 50 degrees. Looks a lot greener now

It was had to believe that such a big part if not most of the trip was so green. The country was certainly at it's best.

Thanks Mick, I've always wanted to travel the Barrier and Mitchell highways from Adelaide to Dubbo via Broken Hill, but so far have never managed to do it. This video has given me some idea of what it would be like and how to plan for it.

Your videoblogs are absolutely wonderful and a joy to watch. Nice scenery, good background music and useful learningful information. Just awesome postings. A wish: As a former semi truckdriver I would like it very much to see how the trailers react and follows the rig on your journeys. You could make a small window in the corner of the main window.

I am hoping that over the next month that I will put together a video showing the life of a 2-Up driver. If you want to have a look at this video from about the 6 minute mark, it shows two different views of trailers going around an intersection corner in Darwin, might be of some interest to you. The road trains are fascinating. We have nothing like that in Canada. Enjoyed the video--as close as I’ll get to travelling Australia. Friend spent time in Alice in the’60’s. Became a friend to Lindsay Johannsen. Sent us a copy of Kurt’s book--Son of the Red Center. Nice to actually see the land via your videos. Especially nice by road train. Thanks!

Lol I saw him pull out and I was like “watch out!! You’re on the wrong siiiiiide!” Hahahaha (I’m an American). What a cool job. Imagine all the cool shit you get to see and places you get to go. And all the music you get to listen to and podcasts and books on tape and stuff while you work. Plus those big trucks are just plain awesome anyways.

Enjoyed your video Mick. I was fascinated with you going through the towns and having to make left and right turns. Seeing it from the truck driver's seat, rather than in the car on the other side of the road. Had a chuckle about the goats. Congratulations 👏🎉 on passing the 10k subscriptions.
