To be fair, the whole "beginning, middle, end" thing is rooted in concepts about story structure that, while very effective, are also very overused. It's not straying from that formula that's bad, the problem when people stray from that formula is that most writers and directors can't pull it off.

I agree. The score was definitely mixed too quiet. If you listen to the full score you can clearly hear the 89 batman theme and the 79 superman theme but in the movie you could easily miss them.

What i don't like is the current trend to find what fans like about a marvel movie yet find what they hated about dc movies like the dc movies are always needed to be defended. Avengers was hailed as being an incredible team up movie but avengers is just as generic of a plot, one main villain and an army of nameless drones but justice league is criticized and needs to prove itself because of the previous lackluster films

TheReviewSpot avengers was an ensemble character movie. Plot is secondary to these characters (and by extension he audience) getting to know/like each other, and then follow it up with well-shot/edited action scenes. RJL’s action scenes are frenetic, visual noise with little coherencey and poor shot-to-shot editing. Only thing left to compare is the character interactions, and while not as memorable and organic as avengers overall, JL did have moments that totally worked. I do disapprove of double standards as well, but there’s a difference between that and looking at two things attempting the same thing and seeing which of them do it better. Also I have NEVER seen a review for the avengers praising its complex plotting...

To be honest, i liked the extended version of BvS more than Justice League. At least BvS did not feel like a comic. But Justice League with the whole sequence in that abandoned city with the flies thingies and that super weak vilain, totally killed the movie for me. Also the cgi was really bad, whereas in BvS you didn't need to rely that much on it except that zod-abomination, but it was just one character so it still looked somehow believeable. I also really liked how in BvS they built up to the climax between B and S and the way Wonder Woman was integrated in that movie.

This movie is much better than people give it credit for. Not perfect by any means, but it's enjoyable for comic fans and non comic fans alike. What's dragging down the DCEU is terrible decisions made by the higher ups at Warner Bros. The script writing is inconsistent, the directing is somewhat non existent (aside from Wonder Woman), but worst of all It's the executive decision they make in how the movies are made and released.

My main beef with these live action DC movies is that they follow already great animated DC movies that are direct-to-video types. Batman v Superman < The Dark Knight Returns Justice League < Justice League: War Suicide Squad < Batman: Assault on Arkham The Wonder Woman movie carried itself, but the other movies were better done in their animated forms in my opinion.

The problem is that in the Death of Superman comic it was just Superman vs Doomsday in a 1-on-1 battle, but in the movie it was changed to a 3-on-1 battle with Batman and Wonder Woman helping him, so there is no way Superman should have died.

The argument between Superman and the Flash's "top speed" has legitimately never been settled, and Superman did not technically die, as I'm sure you know, but people like you will continue to mindlessly reinforce the notion that he somehow came back to life after his supposed "death". The reason the past DCU movies were dark were a set up for Justice League. Steppenwolf could only come back when Earth was at it's darkest moment, also everyone was mourning Superman and crime was rising. It was a curse that was layed in the end of the war scene by Steppenwolf.

I heard the batman theme clear as day a couple times, even when he was with commisioner gordon the theme kicked in, it really wasn't that faint. But the Superman theme had to be faint because I didn't hear it at all but I guess it was in there somehwere because I saw Kevin Smith's review and he said he like shed a tear when he heard it and also in the end credits you saw they listed John Williams as composer.

Highball I have found that most comic book fans like most DC movies. Problem is that the majority of the viewing public are not comic book readers which is why Marvels formula works better than DC overall. The biggest problem I have is when people don't understand a plot point or part mainly because they don't read the comics. Sure it's better to lay it out but I like that DC tends to make their movies more for the fans of comics rather than pander to the non fans. It would be like if Deadpool decided to follow the Marvel formula. It would have flopped hard.

I get the point that they are always looking for something but the Motherboxes are integral to Darkseid. Without them there would be no Darkseid to even worry about. Steppenwolf is not even a major threat. He is more of a scout. Kalibak would be more of a threat although still not a threat like Darkseid. I think they should get Michael Dorn to play Kalibak. His voice just fits the character perfectly. Have not seen it yet but I am just excited. I want it to do well enough to expand the DC universe to more characters and other more interesting stories that are available. I would love for there to be a Kingdom Come movie.

They're stating an opinion compared to previous DC movies. Marvel is cartoony and hasn't had a movie that isnt. DC can be better than MCU. DC has the rights to every single character in the DC library while Marvel (as of right now) doesn't have every character in the Marvel library. DC comics are more serious than Marvel comics with subtle joke here and there.

The whole movie can be summarized in like 4 lines, Batman and wonder woman bring the team together, the bad guy is trying to get some cubes to destroy the world, they use an intergalactic defibrillator to ressurect superman, superman gets mad and kicks their asses a little bit but then he sees lois lane and they win. GG. nothing else happens in this movie.

Nightcrawler, Baby Driver, Arrival, The Revenant, The Hateful 8.... only reason you probably haven't heard of these is because people don't rush out to see them like they do when a Star Wars ($$$) or Avenger ($$$) movie comes out.
