The way I see it, it is a tribute to David Crosby. His 1971 song 'Orleans' (which sounds very much like this one) is made by an American about French cities. So as a homage to him, Justice made Ohio - a song by Frenchmen about American places. ;)

AndreasGowno Just a wild thought, I thought we could interpret this song to represent the current American political landscape as well. Ohio is a well-known swing state, California is a blue state, and Tennessee is a quite red one. Thus, the ultimate question of "Ohio, California, and Tennessee" just repeats itself endlessly every 4 years.

L'origine de cette chanson est le "Carillon de Vendôme", très vieille chanson française (vers 1420) qui teinte toujours au carillon de la tour Saint-Martin à Vendôme (Orléanais, proche de la Touraine, actuel Loir-et-Cher). Le clocher est le seul élément restant de l'ancienne église éponyme, devenu de fait un beffroi. L'église ayant souffert des affres de la Révolution, a disparu au XIXe. Vieux de 6 siècles, cet air est est un canon. Il a inspiré le titre "Ohio" de Justice (groupe qui est Français) en 2011 et n'est donc pas une reprise de "Orleans" de David Crosby (1971), interprétation libre du "Carillon de Vendôme". En France, il a été repris en 2012 par Laurent Voulzy, et a inspiré en 1975 le groupe Il était une fois sous le titre "Colombes". Le "Carillon de Vendôme" est au répertoire de nombreux groupes folkloriques, comme le groupe tourangeau La Ligouère de Touraine. Ses paroles évoquent les quelques villes constituant le maigre domaine royal au début du XVe siècle sous le dauphin Charles VII. Avant la "reconquête" entamée au côté d'une certaine Jehanne d'Arc...

N'importe quoi. On sent bien que Crosby s'est inspiré du Carillon de Vendôme pour les paroles mais il y a mis sa patte et c'est cette patte qu'on entend dans Ohio. Aucun rapport par contre entre le Carillon de Vendôme et Ohio. Ca ne se ressemble pas DU TOUT.
