Interesting pod. I really have enjoyed so far and honestly, super big props for Amanda talking about her mental health so openly. So many people suffer from mental health issues and suffer in silence. Podcasts like this destigmatize mental health issues which is a super important and meaningful thing for people struggling with mental health issues and society in general. Keep it up!!

My mother tells a story of how somebody was always with my grandma in the hospital plus she was dying and when they came in to change her sheets or whatever it was the family members left the room and they said she let herself go then. I watched the Ryan Murphy Netflix series about the Menendez Brothers, as well as the actual documentary and have read several articles about their case. I understand that they killed their parents, but I do feel like they did it out of self defense because of what their father did to them and the fact that their mother knew what was going on, but didn’t do anything to try and stop it. They have been in jail for 35 years now and because I don’t think they’re a threat to society, I believe they should have their case reevaluated 🤔 I also agree with medically assisted suicide in the sense that if someone knows that they don’t have long to live, due to a terminal illness, then they should have a medical professional assist with ending their life! And I’m so sorry you and your brother had to watch your mother go through what she did Daniel! And the fact that she had to go through that pain for 8 months as well! Absolutely heartbreaking 💔 Scott’s dad had a stroke before he passed away as well and he couldn’t drink or eat and it was just so hard watching him lie there not being able to do anything 💔 Looking forward to the next one! Dexter starts this Friday!

@41:00 Kyle Beach on the Blackhawks. That was hushed so hard because the Hawks were in the middle of a dynasty. It's tragic. It's hard to believe a tough hockey guy can be raped but the position of power and fear is stronger than anything we have physically.

Hello! I'm someone who typically comments only negative (so sorry) but if I don't say anything that's my positive. A little bit of truth exists in the comment Donald made about the body having only so much "energy" (not that I think he necessarily thinks one way or the other on anything just because he says he does). When the body's organs are worked, they get worn down (in some way). A certain amount of calories a day has been thought (and proven I think but I'm not sure) to be ideal if one has an eye on longevity. If one eats ten thousand calories a day (edit: while still exercising vigorously, I mean) , the body has to work much more to process all that (this is what I have heard from somewhere sometime, I do not quite remember the origin, but the person did not go into much depth from what I recall). What else is true, and obvisouly, is that doing a moderate amount of exercise but eating still only around 2,000-2,500 calories a day... this is fine. There is some dude somewhere in his nineties doing multiple marathons a month (I thought I heard everyday but I'm hedging.)

They were NEVER sentenced to JAIL.
@Richard-sc7yq23 күн бұрын
I am sympathetic to the effort to free both Lyle Menendez and Erik Menendez. Okay, they weren't really in fear for their lives when they killed their parents. But they were afraid of further, ongoing sexual abuse from their father Jose Menendez. Each and every act of sexual abuse is a crime, and clearly, the number of sex crimes perpetrated against each of Lyle and Erik was probably a lot, perhaps greater than 50 occurrences. So, since sexual abuse is a mitigating factor when sentencing a defendant convicted of 1st degree murder, clearly Erik and Lyle would not have been sentenced to life without parole had the Los Angeles Superior Court where they were tried given due consideration to the sexual abuse they endured. Both Lyle and Erik should be resentenced to a penalty of time already served, which at this point is substantial.

I do believe the Menendez brothers were molested. However the murder was committed when the brothers were legal, adults. Move out of the house file a police report etc... There are many things they should have done instead of violence. Truth is they wanted their parents money. I love the podcast and it sounds like we have different opinions. Thats OK.

Murder is not okay in any way because what reason would you have to murder someone based on their their and you can't get away but they could have called the police and then you're stupid thinking they are guilty that would mean any man in the world can kill someone just because of their emotional trauma😮
