actually he had one of the best starts in the world as how you start dictates how you will finish the race, which he always finishes well, meaning great start. he's just not first out of the blocks thats all, but being first out of the blocks(ex.kimcollins) and leading for first 30m does not mean the best start if you only run well for the first 50m half but die the end 50m half.

I don't agree with taking steroids for a competitive advantage, but any of you saying Justin Gatlin was only good because of the roids or that he was not a talented sprinter, you are completely mistaken. Now I don't really know what substance he took, but even if it were roids, they don't take you from nothing to competing at this level. He was already a world-class athlete with phenomenal technique. People think steroids magically make you great. No, they simply give a little extra edge.

go back and watch athens to see who got the best start and you can see it is gatlin as he was first to 50m. watch how balanced it is and how he comes out of that position slowly til 40m. Collins may have been one of the first to react and leave the blocks but of them all gatlin had the better more consistent start. Believe. Gatlin split at 50m-5.56. Collins split 5.58. Obikwelu, Powell, Greene split at 5.60. Crawford at 5.61.

He actually didn't take an artificial steroid persay, he tested positive for high levels of testosterone which is a steroid that is naturally occruing within the human body, I question thi test as there are a range of things that could cause this to rise i.e. sex

I'd love to see Gatlin competing in Beijing along with Dwain Chambers from the UK, after all Gatlin first offence was overturned so surely his ban should only have been 2 years, alike with Dwain they're only obiding by the rules laid for their offences, i personally would like to see the best competing these guys should be forgiven and allowed to compete...you guys who are slating him, have you never made a mistake?

No, the usa would have had NO CHANCE against Jamaica with or without him. They would have been trashed even if your team was 4 Gatlins. Bolt is at another level, and powell is at one level below that (probably a few levels actually), and tyson and co. are a level below powell. Jamaican r the kings of speed right now, and will be for a long time IMO...
