I love your comment about who might wear the British countryside trend. Living in the British countryside I can confirm that no one local would wear these outfits. They are best worn in cities where they won't frighten the horses. 😂

@@lynnfox8376 I like those trends, tartans, earthy tones, warmth, elegance but it feels a bit like to wear riding breeches in places and occasions where /that have nothing to do with riding sport. Like why shouldn't or couldn't I wear country or folk clothing of my own country, why is looking british more posh or is it? 🙂 Well, just a comment.
@sulalee7413
@sulalee7413 25 күн бұрын
I agree. I live in the country and wear the same clothes I wore when I lived in London. I certainly would never wear a mini skirt: the UK is far too cold to wear those at this time of year! 😱Also, most people aren't in their 20's so most fashion doesn't apply, unless you're Anna Wintour. Also, the tartan is more Scottish than English but yes, it's is therefore, British but who would wear these big patterned tartans in not the very young? Most people would not wear cargo pants unless young, certainly only in casual situations. I don't think any of those models look "posh". You have to be wealthy to buy designer clothes but not necessarily stylish.

The drapy outerwear is definitely my favorite. I have a huge scarf with removable fur collar, it works both like a scarf and like nearly a poncho, I think it’s chic and also very comfortable. With high brown leather boots it also gets the English countryside vibe, which I like.

I started the men's coat trend last year by accident. I thrifted a long wool coat because I needed one. It happens to be double breasted. If I button it up to the neck and belt it, I look like a Russian officer from the late 1800's. Kidding aside (I don't wear it like that), it was a staple last winter and I expect that it will be moving forward. It's just warm, comfortable, stylish and versatile.

I feel like those masculine fits and trends are meant for other bodies that are not mine. I am more or less petite and have a very femenine shape so I look quite absurd in that kind of clothes. I would welcome a video about how to adapt this trend to different body shapes in a modern way because my personal reference for this style is Annie Hall. Said that, I liked the drapey coats, the smooth leather and the belts. Thanks a lot for your insights!!!

Merci, Justine! For some reason, YT has been hiding your videos from me, so I'm really glad I saw this. I love fall fashions. The cleverly accessorized menswear trend is probably the one I'd wear most often because it looks cool & wouldn't swallow me up, & I love the smooth, drapey leather one as well. The British countryside is fabulous & screams Bridgerton, & the drapey coats/big scarves look great, but if I wore one, my head would look like a pea. I don't know whether this is the first time you've done it, but highlighting the look you're discussing on each trend board really helps us follow along with your thoughts.

@@kellylappin5944 Assuming you are addressing @WeLiveByTheSea, why not? While attractive as trends (come and) go, these looks are not for everyone. They best suit people who are tall and slender like the models showcasing them. Belted or unbelted, for a great number of people these styles are not flattering. @@kellylappin5944 why? My comment was not a reflection on Justine's video. Justine always makes excellent videos and I have subscribed to her channel for years. It is permitted to not like trends. Some trends or any trends. And that opinion is as valid as any other. Justine does not set the trends. She reports on them. Perhaps you didn't understand that? Often there are trends she reports on that I do like and find very flattering. That was not the case in this video. Justine asked for comments and I gave mine. @@maggiemiddleton8760 I have an hour glass figure, although these days it's more like a 24 hour glass! So I do like to wear fitted clothing that accentuates my waist. Thank you! As someone with a hard-earned and global sense of style and a love of good tailoring who lives in a region where most people, obliged to restrict themselves to the prêt-à-porter version available of whatever is trendy, have decided to double-down and take pride in being "on trend," I always find your professional insights helpful in determining how to harmonize my own style with whatever is trending. There are fewer things more insulting than receiving contemptuous comments because one's couture wardrobe is not "on trend" from an overweight teenage girl who's "wise" enough to cram her (also) American thighs into black skinny jeans that are part of a head-to-toe black (or "black") ensemble. Your overview of anticipated trends is always on point and immensely helpful in avoiding a repeat of the insults to which I and my tailors were subjected to when the advent of fast fashion, despite its modest yet valuable merits, resulted in people being proud of the ridiculous. I personally can do without another year 2017 in fashion in America, and your insights help me be informed enough to curate and personalize the trends for myself.

People being proud of the ridiculous- very well said. I’ve always cared about how I look and dress. Seeing over weight women crammed into skin tight spandex/ stretchy clothes especially pants,showing every ounce of cellulite on their bodies is mind boggling. No matter what the trend is - if it doesn’t feel or look right - don’t wear it. I’m not body shaming anybody, including including myself. It is what it it. Clothes are worn to accentuate our good features and down play what is unattractive. I’ve developed sciolios the past few years and have had to completely change the way I dress. I’m bent over and senior so I wear loose fitting neutral colored clothes and add a little style with accessories. I just about always receive compliments whenever I go out. Color coordination is key.

Justine Leconte, I've been online shopping for a maximum-warmth winter coat for months but haven't found a style and size combination that appeals to me. I possibly could find a less warm coat and make good use of the drapey outerwear trend. A very large, long and thick scarf of soft-on-the-skin materials might be the answer for me. Global climate change could well eliminate my need for protection from -30F temperatures, but that's a gamble I can't afford to take. Looking forward now with renewed optimism to finding a good enough coat with a splendid, huge scarf. As always, I enjoy your TRENDS videos and all your videos. Thank you.

My favorite styles boxy /oversized blazers with dropping shoulders (80s) accessorized with fine understated belts in same color family/or pattern and long earrings, draped coats and scarves. I bought from &Other Stories a tweed blazer along those lines. I also love the shiny leather in bordeaux color think Gucci runway, I believe it is a very powerful and rich looking, but you need to be the kind of women that carries that character to pull off this trend as it is quite bold, yet absolutely stunning. I love the styles that empower women to be themselves and unafraid to mix yin and yang in their looks. We all carry those energies within our souls, however it is important to know who you are as a person and what represents you best. For me fashion and style is an expression of who we truly are in the inside.

I love looking at runway images. They remind me of times when I was more into fashion. From this season I'm liking Tommy Hilfiger materials and colors, Paco Rabanne layering, Schiaparelli suit, Max Mara coat. I love fall/winter, I just don't feel like investing in clothes anymore, I'll wear what I have.

I always enjoy your Spring and Autumn trend reports! I’m not a British countryside type, but I like it best out of these styles because of the creativity it inspires. Second, I am interested in wearing my trousers so I would go for a casual menswear look.

The draped outerwear is perfect for me - I have some lovely new knitted shawls I finished over the summer that totally encompass this beautiful trend!

Hi Justine, the two trends I am drawn to are the power suit, monochromatic look and the drapy outerwear/trench with a wool wrap. Shiny leather, never. Love from NYC

Thank you for another fantastic video. I was wondering would you consider doing a video for fashion whilst pregnant? I'm really struggling and I'm sure that I cannot be the only one who would find it extremely helpful.
