Channeling the spirit of Ghenghis Khan. For a long time the Chinese bullied and raided the Mongols. Ghenghis was the son of a wealthy merchant, but saw that wealth alone wasn't enough to protect you. So he learned the art of war and gathered a loyal group to take on the Chinese. His forces grew and he conquered them. Then another nation killed some of his people and he conquered THEM. And so on. What many people don't get is that he had a code of conduct: He never attacked any country that wasn't harming his. He never conquered for personal gain. He never attacked India, for example, which was rich then and he could have taken it easily. But they didn't do anything hostile toward any Mongols and he left them alone. So his rule was simple: "Be nice to my people, don't attack my ambassadors or merchants, and we're good. "Harm my people and we will hunt you down and lay waste to you and yours. Mess with us and you die, period." You got the idea, clearly. It resonates with you. Cool.

A lot of that is crap. He killed 10% of the population of the whole world in his ascent to power. ONE OUT OF TEN HUMANS DIED. No defense of your own requires killing 40 million people. Love the Mongol people, love the Hu. Hell, love the artistry of his huge metal statue, but don't ever extend admiration to one such as Khan. Peace! (-:

Get your facts straight - Temujin, aka Chingis Khan didn't actually conquer Song Dynasty of China, he united the Mongolians, defeated the rival tribes on the steppe but died on his way to conquer Xixia (a country between Mongolia and China). His Grandson, Kublai Khan, conquered China. During Ghengis/Chinggis Khan's time, China wasn't even bordering the steppes, the Liao (aka the Khitan) were, and XiXia (aka the Tangut people). The Chinese (Aka the Song Dynasty) was nowhere near Mongols.

I absolutely love this song. My buddies at work have informed me that I’m not allowed to listen to this at work any longer. I get to fired up. It’s just such a primal thing, the chants, the instruments…,, it’s just touches you way back in your brain. In a place that transcends language. You instinctively know that it’s a war chant. I will fight you with everything I have and with this song…I have more than what you are bringing to the battle. It’s just amazing how it can rev you up and you don’t even know the words. After reading the lyrics, it’s far more intimidating and interesting than I even knew. It’s basically, you bring a thousand and we will bring a hundred and you will for sure be outnumbered. Hu, Hu, Hu!!!!

To me this isnt about fighting people physically . This is about being a warrior in everyday life. It's not about the bikes, it's about meeting the challenges we all face every day. It's about letting another person know that they dont wanna be the battle I choose today. It's about a warrior's spirit. If you're looking for easy prey, just know I aint the the one you're looking for. The rewards you might get from beating me aint worth the pain it's gonna take to win the fight.

Very much seems to be about countering attacking strategies. Lions attack ferociously, you you fight till the end; you attempt to tire out and and outlast the lion. Tigers are strategic strikers, so you 'battle' them and force them to meet you on open ground, provocation by legitimate attack. Elephants (like Fiore's elephant and castle) are defensive juggernauts who seem to have no weakness so you have little choice but to fight with "rage", poke and prod at every angle until you tease out a weakness.

In my older age, I hate that I ever had to experience those type of feelings and emotions. Jen, they say your eyes are windows to your soul and I believe that because looking into yours, your soul is Righteous. When you wept during Pentatonix's Hallelujah, you touched my heart. I was a third degree black belt and instructed while in the Navy, during those days, I was a "Frogman". I seem to recognize you have had some defense instruction just by some of your movements. Raitei is thunder, and What a thunderous last 20 seconds. Song Life, is a beautiful ballad, live from their virtual concert back in august, just weeks after Drummer Tamu came back after having her baby. Watching her hold back emotion, and finally cry, is one of most beautiful things I've had pleasure to enjoy. Life is a song about birth, so, it hits Tamu while playing it. Having that man "come back" wouldn't be an enjoyable experience for anybody. The guy was a homicidal maniac that leveled entire cities and murdered 40M+ people in his conquests. Great statesman, intelligent man, brilliant strategist, tremendous politician when it came to tribal affairs, which are understandable points of pride for mongolians, but absolutely not an admirable human being... If we go by statistical impact on the population at the time, he was worse than Hitler and Stalin combined.
@k.v.7681
@k.v.7681 3 жыл бұрын
@Arambai Laishram Oh I'm not keen on "judging" historical characters after the fact, believe me, but ...needed to do? He needed to cause the death of 40M+ people (conservative estimate. Some historians go up to 60M)? Like, plotting to assassinate an opposing faction, killing a couple hundred in a rebel city on your own territory to avoid large scale death in the rest of the country... those can be considered "needs". No monarch ever "needed" to conquer half the known world and level cities thousands of kilometers away at that point in history. As I said, the man was a genius, grand politician, tremendous strategist, excellent statesman and those are admirable things, but he was not a good person either. His character is not to be admired. He was vindictive, had sociopathic tendencies, and was a known and avid rapist. It's like when people say "but under nazi Germany trains were on time". Good. Care to look at where they were going? "The church, the european kings, they did far worse." I don't know about worse. As bad? Most certainly. Throwing babies, women and elders off the walls of Jerusalem isn't exactly worth a Nobel peace prize. But at no point did I argue for their return either, did I? It's kind of a trend to take european monarchs and the Church as the epitome of the "big bad", and they certainly weren't saints, but they don't hold a monopoly on bad stuff either. The crimes of the Church in no way diminish the crimes of any non-christian leader. It's like going around to murder people and once you're facing trial use "But Jack the Ripper did it too!" as a defense. "A number of historians have tried to clean up his legacy and bring out the truth." So the rubble of the cities we unearthed and show signs of mongolian invaders under his reign burning it to the ground are fabrications? Seems a lot of work to slander a person that's been dead for the better part of a Milenia. And loss of life wasn't his only "legacy". Loss of culture was tremendous. He methodically ordered the destruction of libraries and hospitals. So many books were thrown by his men into the Tigris that authors of the time say the river was black with ink. Most likely an exageration, like "the rivers run red", but it gives an idea of the impact it had on the people of the time. Arguably, as far as great leaders go, his grandson, Kubilai, was a far better man. He was also to an extent a warlord, but had way more taste for stability and unification. He didn't hesitate to show the fist, or start wars to appease factions, but wasn't driven to conquest for personal glory nearly as much as Genghis was. He was a leader that "did what he had to" and got blood on his hands in the process.

@@k.v.7681 historical data can be greatly exaggerated especially if the data was written down by the very people who have been oppressing their own people and practicing slavery until a nation of 'barbarians' came and in most cases liberated the masses as they surrendered their oppressors to the invading forces. Our culture is nomadic and as such didn't have a written history until much later and most of it was destroyed in the subsequent years. Also don't forget that Mongolian population never reached the million mark until recently, so it is very probable that some of the exaggerations came from Mongolians at the time, since they were so disadvantaged in numbers they had to use propaganda and fear to shed as less blood as possible. In the end, Chinggis Khaan was an orphan who grew up on a bloody war field and had to do what he had to do to fend for his younger siblings from the age of 7, all the while a whole tribe was actively seeking to kill him. I think 21st century pampered citizens like you and I don't have the right to judge a person whose circumstances, struggles, and ambitions we know nothing of. At some point of history in both of our ancestry there is blood, so let's just be grateful for the sacrifices that had to be made and the pile of bodies that are still growing so we can have this conversation on the internet from the comfort of our homes.

Try "The Great Chinggis Khan" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnWUmHeJltRkm6M -- with subtitles), "Song of Women" with Lzzy Hale (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5WxYohvg9uof8U -- no subtitles for The HU but she sings her part in English), and "Sugaan Essena," which The HU were contracted to do in an alien language for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXu9l3ieaKqWn7c -- no subtitles).

Cool side note: Mongolia is wedged between China and Russia (who are not friends), they have no military technology and still... They own their country. That is how badass the Mongols are. That song is not random, it's not a promise, it's a fuckin guarantee with no expiration date.

The lyrics come from a letter written by a Khan to another Khan from what I understand. Anyways the lyrics are from the 12th Century.
