What an interesting sandbox. There's kind of a natural rubberbanding as the bigger the territory, the less expansionary capacity a color has (because the balls have to travel further). But enclaves within enemy territory can be devastating as a ball can ricochet around rapidly in that enclave.

*The Chronology of the Great Marble Territory Wars* _Participants:_ The People's Republic of Red (PRR) The Order of Orange (OoO) The Yellow Enclave (YE) The United Government of Green Marbles (UGGM) The Cyan Confederacy (CC) The Bolshevik Community of Blue (BCB) The Purple Protectorate (PP) The Magenta Mandate (MM) _Main events:_ Year 00:11 - The UGGM and PP expeditionary corps, unlike those of their neighbours', started exploring and claiming the uncharted territories around their capital rather than along the direction of its main railroad line. Year 00:16 - First contact and first military conflict over a contended territory happened between the BCB and MM. Year 00:20 - The expansionalist urges of the MM's leaders led the country to starting the war against BCB at south-east and the PRR from up north, presumably, using the fact that the latter's military forces were outstretched over the Eastern Front during an allied assault with YE against the OoO. The PP, who, up until that moment, claimed to be neutral to this conflict, offered their military and economical aide to both of its neighbours. At the same time, the UGGM started pushing down south in order to clamp down the CC. Year 00:29 - Due to their advantageous position, the PP's breakthrough squads were able to push through close enough to the MM's capital. The Magenta marbles are concerned that this might mean a quick defeat for their military power. Year 00:36 - Joint attacks from both PP and the BCB are putting the MM's government into a tight spot. The civil unrest and desertion rates are hitting the ceiling. Soldiers' morale is plummeting. Meanwhile, the UGGM managed to blitzkrieg its way all the way to the Cyans' capital and have already fielded the heavy rocket and gun artillery as well as special purpose mortar battalions to, quote, "shell the city to smithereens". Year 00:43 - After long preparation, the artillery strike from UGGM was finally carried out, leaving over 25% of the Cyan City laying in ruins. The unjustified death of civilian populace caused by a vile enemy filled the hearts of Cyan people with thirst of revenge, thus making them to double-tap on their efforts. Meanwhile, the Magenta's HQ was able to stabilize the front against the BCB and to cut out the PP's artillery groups from their supplies. "These guns aimed at our city? Just a ton of scrap", - said General Magenta McBall about the situation. Year 00:52 - The PRR's Red Army decided to go full East in order to eliminate the threat coming from the OoO and started the breakthrough right to the Orange Orchards. The UGGM decided to support this move by providing a distraction attack from the OoO's southern border. Year 01:00 - The Red Army's advancing forces make their first strike against the Orange Orchards' homefront guard forces, destroying 25% of defensive positions within the city borders. At the same time, this "brilliant", as it was deemed by the Red Army's HQ, plan, left the PRR's borders absolutely defenceless, thus giving a perfect opportunity for OoO's mechanized infantry corps to strike the Reds in their heart by rushing through the marshlands on the South. Year 01:05 - The glaring oversight in Red Army HQ's attack plan led the PRR to a grim outcome: the Red Residence is put under the siege and the Red Army now had to withdraw from their positions, leaving those who weren't able to fall back quickly to fight against an advantageous enemy. Being completely surrounded and cut off from the "mainland", they were doomed to die only to delay the advancement of enemy forces. Year 01:13 - The OoO's tank divisions, stabilizing the front at the Red Residence's outskirts, are redirected south, to be the spearhead of the strike against the weakened MM's capital, Magenta Manor. The self-propelled guns of ultrahigh caliber called "Ilya the Prophet" are reported to be preparingnto fire from the enclosed positions. Year 01:35 - After exchanging blows and going back and forth with deep strikes against each other, the Red Army lands the second strike against the Orange Orchards, thus avenging its people died during the Red Residence's bombardmend of year 01:22. The OoO's capital is pinned from both sides by Red and Yellow forces, however the negotiations for surrender aren't deemed an option. "Surrender? Over my squeezed body!" - replied the Supreme Leader of the Order of Orande, Citron von Marble. Year 01:39 - The rumors about the SPG "Ilya the Prophet" being fielded at the outskirts of the Magenta Manor turned out to ve truth. It took only two swift volleys of heavy 500 mm shells to turn the beautiful Manor into the smoldering ruins. The Mandate's surviving Council members unanimously voted to capitulate under the Order's conditions. This major victory had inspired the defenders of the Orange Orchards to fight back at the face of the enemy more ferociously. Year 01:47 - With Orange forces preoccupied with Red Army, the YE decided to head south in order to eliminate the UGGM and claim its enormous territories. Seeing a great opportunity to secure its northern borders, the CC also launches its strike against the Green Gardens. Year 02:05 - After the CC's assault against the UGGM was started, the BCB seen that as a signal to start an attack against the former and advanced its forces east. Meanwhile, the OoO, seeing that the Yellow forces aimed their focus at their Green neighbour, transferred their troops to the Red Front, thus leaving their northern borders barely protected. This was a grave mistake on their part, as Yellow strategic bomber squadron, assisted by the 202 Airborne Division from the ground, started to move in to drop its payload. Panicked Oranges are starting a new wave of military drafts and troop transfers to address those sudden attacks. Year 02:15 - The OoO finally manages to block out the enemy infantry at the borders of Orange Orchards. They've still got plenty of supplies to keep on fighting, but, being surrounded by Oranges, they couldn't fight on without the reinforcements. Meanwhile, the Cyan forces manage to stabilize the front around the city, while the Yellows' Southern military campaign against Greens is seeing a limited success. Year 02:28 - With the joint strike of both Yellow and Cyan armies, the Green Gardens started to receive sustainable casualities to their defencive forces. Meanwhile, the Red Army has taken a desperate attempt to liberate their surrounded allies, losing half of a division dead and half surrounded. Year 02:30 - Cyans devise a plan of an attack against the Green Garden and unleash a barrage of unguided rockets from their airplanes, setting on fire about half of the Green Gardens' territory. At the same time, the YE is trying to break the blockade around its paratroopers on the north of the Orange territory. Year 02:35 - Using an upgraded, Mk.II version of their winged rocket, the Cyan's artillery squads were able to clear the remainder of Greens' homefront defence forces, this forcing them to capitulate. "The weapon they were using is terrifying to an enemy, but also terrific at its efficiency", - noted Colonel Grassland O'Marble, who was previously wounded by the Mk.I rocket-plane. Year 02:50 - The Purple's self-propelled guns are now fielded in range to strike the Bolahevik Commune of Blue. The Party is regularly threatened by its low to mid ranks. Curfews are enforced. Year 03:31 - The YE is launching an offensive operation against the OoO. The Oranges at the moment are incapable of fielding high amounts of armoured vehicles, thus prioritizing claiming the former Green factories and resource nodes. Year 03:34 - Using their long-range artillery, the Yellows were capable of crippling the Orange defences, leaving them with only 25% of their defensive power. The morale of the populace is low, the defeat is rumored to be very soon. Year 03:59 - Former allies, Yellow and Cyan, are having a dispute over the former Green territories obtained from the Orange. There's no solid agreement yet. Year 04:07 - Using the beef between the YE and the CC, the Blue Forces decided to head east and settled at close vicinity of the Cyan City. "I swear, I could count the grooves of each gun's barrel out of my window", - memorized Cyanida Balle. Year 04:33 - With the help of the YE, the PRR's Red Army was able to land the final strike against the Orange Orchards. Upon entering the underground bunker, the recon team found the peel of Citron von Marble on the floor near the juicer. It is theorized, though, that it could be one of von Marble's doubles. Year 04:44 - With Order of Orange no more, the PRR and the YE have started a spy warfare while trying to snatch a little bit of each other's territory. And while the Reds are gaining new sattelites among the former Orange-occupied marbles, the Cyans headed north to expand their territories in order to gain enough military power to eradicate the annoying Blue neighbour. Year 05:19 - Having their forces too overstretched up north, the Cyans couldn't stop the Blue bombers from assaulting their city. Turns out, they were using a secret rocket plane technology salvaged from the Orange top secret archives.

Year 05:40 - Using this newfound technology and advancing its development, Blues were able to erase the Cyan City out of existence. "We've got a weapon capable of flattening the entire city blocks from across the continent. You'd better not make us to use it", - warned the Bolshevik ObKom Marbleil Bluechenko. Year 05:58 - Trying to weaken the evergrowing BCB, the PP launched a blitzkrieg using its cruiser tanks Type 58 "Ro-Ler". Purple met no sufficient resistance yet. Year 06:03 - The tank attack started in year 05:56 has reached its goal - the "Ro-Lers" were marching across the streets of the Blue Commune. However, this triumphant march was quickly turned into a hasty retreat by the Blue partisans armed with Marbleov cocktails and anti-tank rifles. Blue Forces pulled up shortly after. Year 06:20 - Despite having some beefs about the different ways of Rollcialism, the PRR and the BCB had signed a termporary alliance against the YE. Using the Orange's technology, the Blue Forces aimed to start a devastating attack against yellow in the nearest time. Year 07:21 - Having big issues with Purple invading the Bolshevik Commune of Blue and Red Army not being able to help with that, the Blue Forces decided to increase the Homeland Security Forces in order to counteract the threat on the western border. Year 07:56 - The Blues had flattened out the front with Yellows while the Reds lost part of their territories to the Purples. Year 08:40 - The decisive attack by Purple turned out to be successful once again. Using the mobile rocket artillery tanks, they were able to destroy about 50% of enemy defences. The Blue capital is on the verge of destruction. Year 09:12 - With a major breakthrough in computer technology, every Marble Nation was able to make more accurate decisions much faster, thus resulting into their armed forces beind used more efficiently.
