Those miyota movements are pretty rugged and have good shock protection from what I've studied. Built well. This comment has made me want to buy a miyota movement watch. I don't care for the rotor wobble or lack of hacking

I love the JOMW top ten vids and this is one of the best! I’m now nearly late for work but couldn’t resist watching. Imo the stars of the show are the Pagani design and Heimdallr : amazing watches for the price and they both look way more expensive than they cost. Such a shame Pagani don’t do a 40mm version. Vostok wins the prize for originality though.

My brand-new Vostok Amphibia arrived today. You're not kidding about the stainless band! Didn't even remove the plastic from the band, put it back in the box, and swapped it onto a Barton canvas quick-release strap. It's my 4th Vostok and I love their quirks and ridiculous designs! Love your channel!

No joke the Vostok Amfibias are amazing. I took mine (Komandirskie 650539) scuba diving on the reef and honestly didn't expect it to hold up. No water came in at all, super easy to clean. An actual functioning, 200m water resistant watch for $75.

I got the Vostok Ampibia Neptune SE 960726 a few months back and love it. It's the watch that's on my wrist more than any other. I've got my eye on the Amphibia Black Sea 2432/440795, but the price and the 45mm diameter are making be a bit hesitant. 45mm is fairly substantial when you're used to the 39mm of the 960726.

I have had hands on experience with 4 of these. #1 Citizen great functional diver. Every day watch, felt a little cheap though #2 Orient not as rugged as the citizen but nicer looks and the overall finish was nicer. #3 invicta #4 Pagani , the main thing that made me go invicta ahead of pagani is the build quality. Just felt like a better watch. The pagani did have a nicer dial though.

I was a chopper pilot in Vietnam. Back then my choice was the Glycine Airman and the Seiko 6105. Nowadays I have the updated Airman, a Jenny Caribbean, and for fun I picked up the Heimdallr. The Sharkey is a fun and solid watch. Why didn't I buy the Seiko reissue of the 6105? Outrageously expensive and so many other better watches in that price range.

I've got 2 Heimdalrr; the 6105 as in this vid and the Darth Engineer seiko tuna can. Both have excellent construction and even better customer service.

Heimdallr watches are amazing! They also have an unbelievable Rolex Submariner homage, with ceramic bezel, solid end links, milled clasp, sapphire crystal, choice between NH35A or ETA 2824 movement. The NH35A version is only $179 USD. They also have the Seiko 62MAS homage which is an amazing watch, plus many more. Unfortunately most of their watches falls between $150-$200, so they couldn’t make it into this list, but for a little extra money, you get so much more.

I bought a black Citizen Promaster Diver Eco-Drive, and it's a treat. I did swap the plastic no-decompression table band for a black/grey/orange NATO, and yeah, that's the ticket. My next divers will be a Mako II Pepsi and a Ray II Blue, and after that I'll pick up that Pagani NTTD Seamaster homage. If I buy a fifth, it'll be a red-dial Kamasu. The sixth would be an Amphibian, the 420270. With those in the box, I will have spent roughly $900 US for six very nice divers, one of them certified. I'll meet my maker with those six and will not spend a minute wishing for more.

aw i expected a gw-m5610 on this list. It may not look like a diver but this thing is actually 20bar resistant and has all the techy features like solar radio stopwatch etc you would expect in a digital. aw shucks i said digital yeah y'all might be not into that. anyhow i actually got one of these paganis just to see one automatic in my bloody life and its just beautiful to hold 18th century technology in my wrist. but because im used to radio and solar its more plaything than everyday watch. it took a beauty space in my cabinet and its fun to move it around to keep it going. just purdy. cheers mate

I own the Loreo and the Pagani, but I prefer the Pagani, even though it's a big boy on my skinny wrist. I also own the Ray 2, I agree with you about the bracelet - going to swap it out for a StrapCode on my next pay day. I owned the Phoibos but the lume pip fell off after 5 wears. Hellllllloooooo Jody. Thanks for the great channel. As a first Subby homage, I picked up a cheap & cheerful black dial Invicta Pro Diver 2 tone. Nice for the price, seems to work alright as a daily wear thanks no doubt to the NH35. But I agree that the bracelet is a but rattly and the clasp could definitely be better. Your thoughts on a reasonable replacement bracelet with a proper milled clasp that suits the watch's style would be appreciated. Obviously spending a heap on a bracelet for a $75 watch would be a bit counterproductive, but perhaps you know of an affordable option? Thanks, and keep up the great work! Cheers, Mike.

I have 3 of these (Duro, Vostok and Mako 2) and all of them are really good values. The Casio, in particular, is an insanely good bargain. It's a legit iso certified dive watch and I think it was 45 bucks when I got it. I really wish it were 42mm, though. 44mm is a tad big for my 6.75" wrist. The Mako 2 is probably the only watch in the rotation that gets as much wrist time as my skx. I can't imagine you'd find very many watches that can match it in its price range. Orient is killing seiko nowadays.

Check out the citizen bn0100 as well, slightly smaller at 41mm and 12mm thick. It's very comfortable, especially on the rubber strap.

@@BrakkoJanus I was a bit confused by Amazon's description as well but the 44mm includes the crown. The lug to lug is 49mm, so it may be a little long, I suppose it depends what you're used to. Nicely finished watch for the price though.

@@chrisbrown6494 oh ok, forgot the weird way Citizen measures cases sometimes. Lug to lug is the main problem then, especially with the protruding fixed end links.

I've got the Pagani (a brilliant spec with some QC issues), an Orient Ray (superb design with meh bracelet), and an over budget Citizen Promaster Automatic (unassuming daily tool). Don't regret buy any of them... although think I might have got a Miyota movement Pagani without realising... still, a minor gripe at £60

I have a Casio Duro in my collection. The thing I like about it is you can go from The Boardroom directly to the beach or pool. And it looks good enough to used as a dress watch. For the price it could serve as a one watch collection. But then what fun would that be. I know I could have saved a lot of money if I'd have found this watch and my solar/ atomic G-Shock early in the game.
