You mentioned having good comprehension while you were still in school. I was telling my mom I was having trouble understanding something. She said she didn't know why because my teachers said I had good comprehension skills. I said there's a difference between comprehending a story you just read in grade school and comprehending the instructions for something. 😉

Great job! Recently, when a pattern calls for a ch-1 when closing up a cluster or a puff st, in my mind, I've been calling it a button. It's just easier for me to think "Button it," rather than ch 1, then start counting chain stitches. It's the same with picots; I count the required number of chain stitches, then I shut them, rather than sl st (it's still a sl st, I'm just calling it something else). I never claimed to be normal...

Oh wow, this is one of my current projects! By around round 7, I thought it looked oddly familiar. I'm making it in size 30 crochet cotton on a size 1.5MM hook, so my squares are around four inches across. Love the way it looks in larger yarn though, it could make a nice throw blanket!

Earlier today I watched another video of yours and I searched YT for a vintage mystery knitting channel. Lo and behold, there is one. In the very first video I saw, she told she started her channel after watching yours. You are truly inspiring people.

I am old. It is so good the way you teach people to adjust that first chain. I think their way makes it easier to write, but experience teaches us what to do. And I laughed out loud when I saw you retract your “lock” ch when that pattern called for it. Love this. 💜

I don't always vibe with some of the vintage patterns you've made, but this one is really pretty. One day you should do a quick little overview of all the various patterns and things you've made in this series; it'd be fun to see them all together. I was making a rose granny square petal this morning while watching, and as you were counting out all those popcorn stitches, I was fighting for my LIFE trying to get all my DCs and HDCs correct in each petal: half one, double one, double two, double wait...did I just do one or two? oh wait, that was HER counting that two holy crapppppp lol. I do this to myself every time I click on one of your vids hahhaha

I knew immediately what that pattern was once you got past the 6th round! I started that tablecloth 10 years ago and I'm still working on it every so often. I have been using size 10 bedspread weight thread in Ecru on a #7 steel hook. It truly is gorgeous. I have run into the problem of running out of thread and the dye lots are different now. Ugh! Not sure what I will do at this point. So happy you did this one. I didn't realize it was from 1933. Good to know.

Hey Ms Corinna!! Glad to see you! I figured out the issue of the sharp points of the thread hooks hurting our fingers. YAY! Instead of pushing the hook and forcing it through, place the point of the hook at the stitch you are working into, just under the thread, and with the fingernail of your hook hand index finger, pull the thread onto the hook. Repeat if you are working into both loops of the stitch. I noticed I was automatically doing this when using yarn when the stitch was tight, and the 💡 went on! So I tried it with thread, and, hey presto! It worked like a charm. Hope this little trick helps!❤️

I made this along with you, but I didn’t use such a small hook! I’m sure that’s why you were popping your stitches. I didn’t have to add the extra chain between the popcorn stitches. I had plenty of room so I did count the “ lock “ stitch for the popcorn. Came out beautifully. I used hobbi’s horizon yarn.
