I purchased this as my second printer and love it. My first printer was the Ender 3v2 and I have significantly upgraded it. This Ender 3S1 Pro is much easier to assemble and has almost all the upgrades I did to the Ender 3V2. This is a better printer than the 3v2 even after all the upgrades. After a few month now of using the PEI bed I found that the bed adhesion was excellent for the first 45 to 60 days of use. After two month of use the PEI bed does not stick as well as it did at the beginning no matter how well I clean it. I now use some washable glue for some prints to get the bed to stick. I simply love this Ender 3S1 pro ! It’s a fabulous printer! I bought a Raspberry Pi and an webcam to install on this printer. The Ender 3V2 I already installed the Raspberry pi and the webcam. I now need to install the new raspberry pi and the webcam on the 3S1 Pro . But I need to figure out how to set up the second printer with the raspberry pi and Octoprint. Your review of this printer is excellent! When I purchased my Ender 3V2 I followed your KZbin video to put it together. Have you installed multiple 3d printers and webcam to use them simultaneously with Octoprint and raspberry pi ? Thanks again for your great KZbin videos!

For the PEI bed (and for glass beds) I use Aqua Net. I wipe it down after every print with 90% rubbing alcohol. It retains its stickiness like it did when new. When hot, it sticks. When cool it releases. Don't use Acetone on PEI. I just got my S1 and it is working well right now -- no extra sticky required. This was true for my Prusa and I graduated to alcohol after a month or so of using it.

Thank you for this video, I used it to help me set up my Ender-3 S1 Pro and the first print was absolutely perfect the first layer went down just right, adhered perfectly and popped off easily. I doubt it would have gone as well as it did if I hadn't watched this video and adjusted it as suggested, I found most of the rollers were extremely tight and you could feel the axes get stuck in the positions they shipped in (the rollers might have developed some flat spots from the pressure over time), but after loosening them per your instructions (and making sure to turn them all random amounts so that the potentially flat bits don't all line up at the same spot) it moved SO much smoother.

Thanks. I got the s1 and followed your video. One thing I found is that I have to be patient. Sometimes it just takes a few seconds to be ready to go on. Getting impatient and pressing a selection more than once often causes it to lock up and I have to reboot. This is true in leveling especially. I also noted that when I pre-heat the PLA sometimes it will think I am printing and I have to stop it and start over. Weird. However, overall it appears to be working fine. I love the new filament feed. Much better than the pro and V2. Overall, I am looking forward to putting some miles on it. Your videos for assembling these are SOOoooo much easier than trying to figure out what the manual wants. Especially when it comes to correct things like a loose bed. Just love them.

I just got my first 3D printer, an Ender S1 Pro today and I followed your setup guide and PLA settings and my first print came out looking amazing. I printed out a Picoboot holder for the GameCube by HUVUL. Your guide made my first print easy. The only issue I had with my setup and had to repeat was the Auto level. I had to do the auto level twice because there was such a large gap in the center of the bed and I manually compensated all the way down to -5.00 and the extruder never moved. So I zero it out and ran a second auto level and this time I was able to get a manual center level at -3.40 but it prints beautifully. Thank you so much for your video.

@ShaggyShaggums2 жыл бұрын
@@anirban17aug I'm new to this and I've been printing nice quality prints but what I did that worked for me was to tighten all 4 levers/wheels and then I manually leveled the bed loosening the wheels as you go and using a piece of paper where the nozzle slightly grabs the paper like in the video and afterwards I did the auto leveling and everything came out fine. My level is -3.40 but I have no issues and if you are concerned about that, there is some part you can buy to put on under your bed to push it up but honestly it works fine.

Thank you, i had issues levelling the bed at first but i eventually figured it out. essentially i manual level first, raise the z axis 1.0 at a time until close enough, then spun the physical rings under the table with a paper touch, did the automatic and then a manual test again. I ended up going 3.5 on the z axis in the end but I'm glad I went bit by bit. nearly broke my nozzle by plunging it into the table. but not enough to cause damage.

yea i wouldnt say that there isnt too much to learn yourself. every 3d printer is extremely sensitive to anything you do to it and you need to have a good understanding of the mechanics of 3d printing to be able to set one up yourself and get accurate prints successfully
@gruffnutz2 жыл бұрын
I'm not convinced this is a set and forget, plug and play, no smoke out the ears, never inducing furious wrenching of one's hair type of 3D printer and don't know any of these budget open frame dealies are. I used to own an enclosed printer which happily kept the user out of the environment, levelling the bed, making a coffee while you waited, even told you what sort of filament you had inserted into the inbuilt spool. I had more hair and it printed okay too, but was a lot more pricey for what you got than an ENder which i greatly prefer. I think to have fun printing you inevitably get tired of white PLA and once you branch out to printing PETG, carbon fibers, then metal and finally reels of titanium infused granite, the problems start. HOwever, most of them are manageable and on balance between attacking the printer with an axe in frustration and rewarding tweaking these have it about right.
@TylerFalwell2 жыл бұрын
@@Mr.Thermistor7228 For sure, but if that fear keeps you from doing it, you never will. This video helps the novice get introduced to 3D printing. I've only been at it for a week now and have plenty of spaghetti prints, but without someone like Vlad breaking down how to get started I never would have ventured out to learn all of in's and outs of Cura, etc.

The printers user manual does not tell you anything about all these asymmetric wheels which need setup and my printer was not ready to print from the box.. the hotbed was moving all over the place so i needed to tighten the wheels underneath and the print head base loose so when i printed it was gong up and down! thank you very much again!

My big hold-back is that they need a file in order to print. I have items with broken parts that I need to reproduce using a 3D printer. Earlier today I watched a video of a small 3D scanner. I thought I had my answer with the 3D scanner and a 3D printer. Would it be feasible to use a 3D scanner and produce a file that a 3D printer could use? Any assistance would be most appreciated.
