Tommy stood the test of time. His voice is incredible. Absolutely untouched by time. I loved his music way back when and now I love it even more because no modern artist compares. Sorry, but this artist is the real deal. I prefer to listen to REAL music that uplifts me. Brilliant.

The original recording is a great example of simple yet very effective recording production techniques. I saw Tommy at one of those revival shows with other artists from the 60s. He was great!. Even better is when his set was over, he left the stage and came out to sit with us in the audience and chat. A really cool guy. Total class.

Reminds of 1971 working at the boat shop after school in the 11th grade. Weekends loading up our dirt bikes and heading up hwy 41 into the Sierra Nevada mountains from Fresno. A little Datsun pickup. We packed a Kawasaki 350, Montessa 250, Bultaco 250 and Honda trail 70, plus tool box, ice chest, three in the front and Ralph's little brother in the back. Ralph, Jim, me and Ralph's younger brother. All day rides I'll remember those days when I close my eyes the final time..... Fun......

Tommy's guitar looks to my eyes like a Fender Jaguar but it may be another type very similar. Jazzmaster maybe? I have a 1965 Jaguar and always love to see people playing them as not too many really play them. They are very versatile. The neck on mine is sweet and it sounds amazing. BTW Tommy James is awesome. Just finished his book on Kindle. A GREAT read. Me the Mob and Music. If you haven't read it you will love it if you like Tommy and his musical talent.

Funny that no one mentions the bass player, Kasim Sulton, who basically revived a lot of careers as musical director for several artists he played live with. Member of Utopia with Todd Rundgren, whom he has basically been there for whenever called upon, including The New Cars, but also, and probably more prolific, the musical director for the Neverland Express, Meat Loafs touring band behind Bat Out Of Hell II:Back Into Hell...….wonderful musician.
