A sentence is wrong."when the flaps are retracted, climb rate decreases" this is wrong.increases .cause, drag is decreased, so rate of climb is incresed.

There is a compensation factor between the lift and drag!

when flaps are added, drag increases due to an increase in lift, when flaps are retracted our amount of lift being produced decreases, decreasing our lift production, so the climb rate may decrease with a retraction of flaps and decrease in lift production

The video refers to the "sink" that occurs immediately after flap retraction, before the extra speed can be built up.
