What if the dunk contest was part of the All-Star game? In-game dunks would be so much more entertaining, you could have judges on the sideline or just let the announcers do the judging. Any time there is a dunk during the game it gets a score and the player with the highest scoring dunk throughout the whole game wins. There will be wide open fast break dunks and maybe some dunks on defenders. A guy with a high dunk score might start defending the rim to protect his lead, and then HE gets dunked on! This would add another layer to the dunk contest and to the All-Star game itself.

@@abel6298 Why KJV? The NIV is more accurate, but nothing beats the original languages. In fact you're selling yourself short if you read the KJV, it didn't have all the manuscripts and used single words for many different words making it inaccurate and open to interpretation. On top of that, they didn't understand Hebrew as well, and you're going through what only a handful of scholars decided how to interpret things. As someone telling someone to read their Bible, you really should know better, going around giving false information about your religion isn't a holy thing to do.

This historic NBA event should happen and you might be the ambassador of the hole show if it ever comes to pass. Great video

I attended this event when I was 10. It was a dream come true to see all those amazing athletes in one building. I can tell you that the stadium was deafening when Conley landed that dunk. In those days we didnt have the internet and nobody believed me that this guy dunked further than MJ.

We need to go back to the days of Vince Carter when the dunks literally made peoples' jaws drop. Love the idea of the cross-sport dunk bracket, think the bragging rights and an actual prize might convince the 'stars' to get involved. Odell and Davante had some awesome dunks in those clips too!

nice job on this video I had forgotten all about the Slam Fest back in the day and didn't realize Conley's dad was even in it, lol. I think you come up with a great idea for the future of the Slam Dunk Contest, I believe that would bring some much needed excitement back into this great event 👍🏾

Wilt, Dr. J., a sophomore (high school) I saw at basketball camp in the 80's. There's dozens of people that have done it at least that far. Best example is the guy that changed the rules, Wilt.

11:41 Somebody doesn't understand how Pythagorean Theorem works. The one on the right is clearly a longer dunk because of the angle. Even if you want to argue millimetres over who was father behind the line itself, the fact that the guy on the right is coming from the side means that his dunk was farther away.

Conley is on the opposing side...

I love this suggestion!!!! Athletes are Uber competitive so this might make some NBA stars want to do it. It could also extend the the baseball Home run and NFL challenges.

Scal dunked from the three-point line but he's so humble he had the tapes erased

Jordans dunk (right pic) at 11:42 was most likely further then Mike's because he was not jumping directly linear like Mike was. Jordan is damn near jumping from the left elbow of the free throw line. Also a sidenote, from an eye test Jordan looks shorter then Mike so it is possible with his height it could of been an even greater distance but I could be wrong.

Personally, I'd rather just see a full dunk contest of celebrities and non-nba players (no pro dunkers). You're absolutely right, the expectations are too high now for NBA players, but totally adjust for non-NBA players and there's an added element of excitement on "what can this guy do??". And you know these non-nba guys would be super excited about it. All in all, amazing vid as always.

As I wait for the next episode, I wanted to say that I appreciate the format of your videos. It reminds me of this podcast called “Lore”. You start with an interesting tidbit and then somehow segue into a totally different but interesting topic. Compelete with non-distracting music bed and then, you end your video with a great question or call to action to your followers. I love it. Not sure if you took notice of that or if there’s some standard content creation package thst u follow or if it’s just uncanny, but I love this channel. Can’t wait to see more

The most impressive Dunk was from Mark Henry, the world's strongest man in the mid to late 1990's. He dunked at 6'3" and 370 lbs!!!!

James white did windmill behind the ft line in turkey dunk contest. Not only he was few inches behind, but he did off center, more from a side of ft line... meaning it was even more further. So probably further than conley, plus he windmilled it, with room to spare. By far greatest ft line dunk ever, bar none.

I'm primarily a baseball fan, but I love watching your videos. You just do a great job. The only basketball I watch is occasionally the finals. I never watch the dunk contest or the all star game. But if this happened, I would definitely watch it, and I know everybody I know who is into sports would watch it too.
