It's enjoyable to watch you two together because you are gentle and considerate with each other and you really listen to one another. This movie is such a classic comedy and still a fun watch more than 30 years after its release.

Phil broke the loop when he achieved true happiness and contentment. He was no longer a self-centered jerk. He had grown into a caring, unselfish, honorable man. He loved Rita for who she was and not for what she could do for him.

@StoneColdBeard6 сағат бұрын
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It has drama, comedy, action, romance, sci-fi, existential crisis, fantasy, etc… and it’s balanced perfectly. I can’t imagine how hard it is for Bill Murray to go from depressed and miserable, to funny and charming, then a romantic, then an a-hole. And be convincing in each persona. Think about it, we all feel trapped in daily routine once in a while, we get stuck.
@H0VA4 сағат бұрын
It is definitely not hard for BIll Murray to be an a-hole. He is naturally one in real life. Don't take my word for it either, theres records of it.

One of my favorite movies, and I enjoyed the ladies reactions as they “prognosticated” Phil’s future actions, just like we all did on our first iteration. I realized this time that maybe Phil isn’t in a time loop. His experience fits multiverse theory where a new universe is created with each new possibility and different decision taken. So, for over 30K years, Phil was reincarnated to a new split timeline each time he did something new. And he finally awoke to the one where he became enlightened and got everything he truly desired. The film has been debated and discussed by philosophers, clergy, and no doubt some physicists too. Like real life, we will never know all the answers in this mortal existence until we too have had our own last Groundhog Day.

Chris Elliot is the actor that's also in There's Something About Mary. I don't want to say he was a big star in the 80's/90's, but fairly well known and starred in a sitcom called 'Get a Life'

the nerdy actor, Ned, was actually in a band when he was a teenager or young adult...a band with Stevie Ray Vaughan! yeah he plays all these nerdy squares, but he ain't no square there's a handful of films that have the groundhog day type premise and they're all interesting, there's a recent film that's similar called Palm Springs that's pretty good, and Boss Level and Edge of Tomorrow and Looper are very cool I recall Bill Murray once saying in an interview that what he really wanted to do was really live in the present and truly appreciate each moment. I think maybe he started to feel that way because he made this movie. Phil did all that, had an impact on all those lives in just 1 day. Most people might not even do that in one lifetime, but if you want to help people..it's very easy. You just gotta pay attention, show up, and invest a little time. It's an investment more than a sacrifice.

There are various theories out there about how long Phil was stuck in the loop. Some think it was around 10 years, while others, including the screenwriter, suspect it was around 30 to 40 years.

The film's director, Harold Ramis, initially suggested Phil was trapped for about 10 years but later revised his estimate to 30-40 years.

in one of the versions of the script.. once the cycle started - Phil kept track of how long he was repeating by going to the library - and starting at the very last row - every day he'd pull a book out and read one page a day until he got to the end of the book and then move on to the next book. he ended up reading every book in the entire library.
