Franco Nero (Escobar) was Sir Lancelot in a great movie version of the musical Camelot along with Richard Harris (English Bob: The Unforgiven) and Vanessa Redgrave. Tony Ganios (the guy who shot the minister in the church/clubhouse) played a character call "Meat" in the Porky's series of movies that bring me back to my teen years back in the 80s. Basically the American Pie movies of that era.

This brief appearance of Robert Patrick's was what got him the part in "Terminator 2" - in real time. James Cameron happened to be visiting the set on the day or recording that scene, and the sight of this hard-faced guy snapping "A sitting duck!" before firing a deadly headshot, made Cameron immediately realise that THIS was the guy he wanted as is T1000.

crashing that plane just to show how serious he was is one of the most evil things I've seen a villain do, the main air traffic controller was actually a senator and involved the watergate trial, heck of a career, he was so great at those roles

Ryl is a regular Sherlock Holmes. She'd make a great detective. Perhaps they should both watch the mystery thriller, "Triangle" (2009). And they should also both read the works of Arthur Conan Doyle's mystery writings on Sherlock Holmes. And watch the 2009 film, "Sherlock Holmes" starring Robert Downey Jr.

Yes, airplanes have their own altimeters. They work with static air pressure and have to be calibrated to the ground air pressure at the destination airport. But since there is a snowstorm there, there is no stable air pressure. This is exactly why the ILS system was introduced.

Earlier in the film it showed McClane casually lighting a cigarette and putting away his lighter. A lighter that later proved to be very useful in taking down the terrorist's plane. In Aliens, Ripley is shown early in the film smoking a cigarette. Her lighter was later useful in helping her escape from a locked room. Non-smokers take note. Smoking is good for you! If McClane had been a non-smoker, the bad guys would have gotten away, and McClane's wife might have likely died in an emergency landing with no Runway lights. And no, this comment was not sponsored by the Tobacco industry.

I'm a little confused about something that I hope some military viewers can answer. How is it that "Major" Grant is the mentor "Colonel" Stuart? Does not a Colonel out rank a Major by at least 2 rankings? Or was Stuart as a soldier so good that he quickly got promoted far above Grant? Its just unusual to see a military protege outrank their own mentor. Or maybe the film writers did not know how military officer ranks work? It wouldn't be the first film to get military details wrong.

Every single plane, circling, right at this moment, has other airports to which they can divert if necessary. With two hours worth of fuel, you can easily make it half way across the lower 48 if you need to. There are _dozens_ of other airports you can reach.

The airport closest to Washington Dulles International Airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. According to travelmath, the whole flight takes 33 minutes, but they said that's adding an extra 30 minutes for takeoff and landing, and we're talking about a plane that's already in the air, here, so let's cut that down to 3 minutes. Three minutes is what it would take for these people to be safely on the ground if they were willing to fly to a different airport.

While it's still a solid Action Movie, I'd rank this one as the second-weakest in the franchise, ahead of only the dismal fifth instalment. The next one is right up there with the original.
