My favorite female Canadian vocalist. What tone! And range! She's the only gal I've ever heard that could really cover Joni's "Help Me" tune without making you cringe a bit to see if she's going to be able to hit those high notes. And now her phrase endings and vibrato are starting to sound like Joni's started sounded - beginning with release of "The Hissing of Summer Lawns".

Daniel played it differently every night as did Dave and Grecco all across Canada and the US. k.d.is secure and humble enough to step back and allow the always very talented.singers and musicians show off his/her talents.She appeared to relish the different nightly music as much or more than us. She knows and travels with these musicians/singers - can you imagine what is played during down time? That was one of the many reasons why we went to concerts in both countries. Then, to actually see k.d. perform in person was amazing - CDs and Vinyl do NOT do her enough justice. And, that's saying something considering how incredible she sounds on both. Get the DVD, or better, Blu-Ray you'll never regret it.

She has a UK tour on in the July of this year. I'm letting everyone know. I got my tickets when they came out. I got mine in the exclusive fan pre-sale, but they went on sale officially 10 days ago, there may still be time to grab some. And for £46, it's practically a steal. I'm so excited to finally see this woman live. She hasn't been back to the UK in 8 years, so they'll sell out fast. Get them while you can everyone!!! xx

I get what they wanted to do here, mix things up with a new arrangement, change things a bit and shake things up, try something different with the live venue. But I will stick with the original studio cut that I adore and fell in love with in 1992 at age 26, the one which has that beautiful melody and that lovely build-up as the song progresses. This version pales in comparison.
