The nets was heavily outmatched coz they don't have an elite bigman that can match Shaq, Timmy and David in finals.

Shaq & Kobe was the best 2 players in the league on the same team. Its like Lebron and KD being on the same team in 2016 or Giannis and Luka being on the same team right now. Magic and Bird, Jordan and Hakeem. It was almost as unfair as Steph, Klay, KD and Green and they was just 2 players.

2002 journey to the finals. Strength of schedule perspective. Nets beat: Pacers with Reggie Miller and Jermaine O’Neal Celtics with Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker Pistons with Ben Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse Lakers beat: Trailblazers with Rasheed Wallace and Scottie Pippen Spurs with Tim Duncan and David Robinson Kings with Chris Webber and Mike Bibby

People like to do this revisionist history. Shaq opened a lane for Kobe. Shaq was the most dominant force during that run. That photo said it all.

@@van2.060 I think we know that was a weak attempt at denimishing Kobe's impact but everybody who watched around that time knows Kobe could've been the #1 guy anywhere else around that time, he was averaging 30+ ppg playing alongside a dominant guy like Shaq

Ok folks, NBA players talking about how dominant Shaq was. It was because Shaq demanded so much attention it gave the others opportunities. Shaq is the GOAT

@@lucianotecuanapa9853 wouldn’t of mattered, those Lakers had nothing to offer the Pistons in terms of an actual threat of winning 4 times in 7 games. Shaq was good but the Pistons deployed strategies to limit him and gain TO’s off the Lakers feeding him. Kobe had absolutely nothing to offer, he was clamped up. I’d argue the 04 Pistons would of beat any version of the Kobe/Shaq Lakers. Best defense in NBA history and maybe sports history
