Hey sean, do you know if it will pass emissions? Im looking to swap to the k24 in my 86 as well.

Most likely it will not pass. Even if you have cats and everything to actually pass the emissions test, the Haltech is not setup to output emissions test data. At least that’s what I’ve read online about it. Definitely do some research though, I could be wrong. I’m currently working on a fix for this as well 😅

hey sean my engine blew so could i just throw in a stock k24 into my frs and plug and play or do i need to buy a swap kit, and if so is there a engine that i could buy for the low and it just goes in and works.

Hey George. Unfortunately you won’t be able to simply drop in a K24. You need new motor mounts, transmission adapter, coolant lines, wiring, stand-alone ECU, intake, exhaust. This is not as simple as getting a new set of wheels. You will either need a whole swap kit, or you’ll need to have a bunch of stuff custom made. As far as engines go, the K24A2 is pretty much the standard for performance K-series engines. There are TONS of variants on the K20 and K24 engines, so do a little bit of research on which engine would work for you and what you can find for a reasonable price.
