My car is a stock K20a2 with full bolt ons tuned and my car pulls away from g37s very easily. K24 is not superior unless it's got a K20 head and Type-S oil pump

Does the k24 make that big of a difference? I have a bolt on integra gsr and my brothers 08 stock g37S (red) walks me every time. I’ve raced a clapped out s2000 before and slightly pulled on him (both with passengers)

K24 is gonna be way faster than a GSR just because of the raw displacement, plus the K-Series can make a lot more power on boost stock motor. Not saying the GSR is a bad motor by any means but the performance difference is definitely there

@@dominicjeanb2063 Honestly, I'd say it would be better of an investment to do a B20 block and GSR head or a B16A2 EM1 SI head as that can get you around 180-190whp off rip with that combo and with bolt ons and tune can get you over 200whp+ easy. Plus IMO, B series is better for boost anyways so if you keep you same setup, it would wash lots of cars if you just went turbo setup instead really. I've seen B series turbos keep up with lots of K's and still put up some wins so it's all up to what you want really. Idk what mods you have but those are some ways you can squeeze some more out of your B if you'd like.

It’s a complete unopened JDM K24A not sure if those come with a 25 degree or 50 degree. Stock oil pump but still happily revs to 8K

StaticSpeed Productions 50 degree only came in the 8th gen Si. You need that, type s oil pump, cams, valve springs, retainers, ported rbc manifold and a 4inch intake with a V stack, 3 inch exhaust and you’ll be in the 250-260whp range. Smoking V8s 👌🏾

@@kuya_mike7813 Its preferable to go with a 40 degree VTC.. Physical limiter is much better and safer and its only like $100 extra for the piece of mind. You really dont need a Type S pump unless you plan to rev higher than 8K.. And without cams, the K24 power band falls off even with more timing. And quite honestly, going over 8K on a stock k24 bottom end isnt really ideal. The piston speed is incredibly high at 8K already in a k24.

Literally have to overheat it or run it completely dry on oil. It will even rev to 8K rpm with 1 quart of oil and be completely fine... don’t ask me how I know lol

@@Kingdom.Truckin I just blew mine when I shifted 3-2 in a race. Did some calculations and I hit about 11,300-11,800 rpm. One of my retaining nuts for my valve retainers popped up, and another one completely came off and was just sitting in the head. My compression was really strong after it, I took the head off and I don't think I see any bent valves unless it's too small for me to notice. I believe my timing also jumped a bit. It was definitely knocking too, surprisingly not as bad as you would think. Some sparkly bits in the oil and on my magnetic drain plug. Haven't taken apart my oil filter yet to see how much metal is in there. Haven't finished pulling my engine yet so I haven't been able to see how bad the bearings and rods look, but the pistons and cylinder walls look fine from the top. I still drove it home on the highway after I money shifted, and took it to work the next day before I started pulling it apart because I was afraid of causing further damage. All things considered, I'm surprised it didn't do even more damage. Anyways now I'm working on building a k24/20 frank motor with forged rods, pistons, and hopefully some drag cartel stage 4 cams

G37 in the video is a manual. Watch the run at the end of the video when the RSX has a passenger instead of the G. The G pulls bus lengths. With no passengers in either car the G37 is still faster than the RSX they have raced many times

G37S usually make about 270whp bone stock. This K24 still has stock VTC gears, stock oil pump, stock throttle body, stock injectors, and stock midpipe (super restrictive) so that’s why it only makes 215whp. If all those were upgraded it would be making around 240whp and would be much faster
