this is actually a classical dance and song - one of india's national dance forms, which is kathak, and she's learned for about 8 years before she got into movies. There are a lot of intricate and tiny movements, that corresponds to the lyrics, and it's mindblowing when you actually understand a bit of the dancing... she does the expressions and movements so well... there isn't anyone else in bollywood who could have done this better.

This song is actually proper semi-classical/classical Kathak; not mixed at all. This was choreographed by legendary Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj. Madhuri's lehanga was of 30KG and yet she managed it so well. every mudra (hand gesture, face expressions, etc) have a proper meaning according to lyrics of song.

it seems easy but this dance is really, really hard and it is choreographed by the best Kathak teacher of India Birju Maharaj... Dance may not be fast paced but that's the hardest part of it... dancing on slow beats and giving proper expression.. not more not less....... even hand movements (mudra) is perfect... her face is doing half of the work give this song to any other hindi movie actress and they will make mess of it..... you can compare aishwarya rai and madhuri dixit in dola re dola song...aishwarya was good but anyone can say that madhuri was best and she was doing it with ease and aishwarya's hand movement looks harder and shaky..

She was pregnant during shooting of this film; but most certainly during shooting of Dola re. Saroj Khan herself had revealed this in her show "Nachle Ve with saroj Khan' that she was pregnant and yet she trusted Saroj with dance moves. She landed in India, and when she came for shooting, she did not need any rehearsals; just shot it in one go; first sshot.

And yes, this is pure classical dance and it takes years to master it, learn it, understand the meaning of each Mudra. So please think before saying this isn't her hardest dance. 'Coz dances like these unadulterated are rarely done in Bollywood. And no one else can manage a Kathak classical dance and expressions, including movement of feet. (In Kathak movement of feet, and fast is very important). Giving dislike for just this statement. Sorry!
