@@layton6202 Oh, I won't deny, he was a true shinobi; aside from the fact that shinobi serve somebody and he only really obeyed his own views, but that's beside the point (or that the Third should have executed him for going behind his back to have the Uchiha eliminated). But yes, like many people point out here, he is probably the most realistic character in the show, as many times in our history people had used such underhanded tactics to further their own goals, especially during the times of war. But you seem to overlook that probably all of those people were massive pieces of shit. That, and the fact that practically all we see from Danzo's operations on-screen are his failures kinda stops me from having too many sympathetic feelings towards the guy, so that just leaves a sad, despicable person with an oversized ego. PS: Since you like realistic characters like Danzo, might I suggest watching Rurouni Kenshin (or better yet, read the manga, I heard the anime took some big liberties after 3/4 of the story was done)? I think you'll enjoy it^^

Kakashi's dad killed himself when kakashi was still in academy which led him to prioritize missions over friends which led to his friend obito dying right in front of him which scars him still to this day and the only promise obito made to him was broken when he killed rin, so both his teammates deaths he blames on himself and the only one there to comfort him was his sensei minato who gave him a mission to protect his wife during birth which he failed and led to his sensei and his wife killing themselves, literally anyone he gets close to dies in a terrible way was how he used to think bc of all this, MY POINT BEING I rather be Kabuto and not remember who I was than to be cold blooded kakashi killing my teammates on accident after my dad committed suicide and then failing to protect my sensei and his wife during birth which leads to both there deaths too.... can't imagine what went thru his head when he found out naruto was gonna be his student

I don't see how they respect Danzo outside of being a talented shinobi. Danzo is responsible for AT LEAST half of Konoha's problems it has had over many decades. I respect Orochimaru more than Danzo because at least he's consistent in being a psychopath manipulative person bent on destroying the leaf village. He lets you know he's self serving for the most part, meanwhile everything Danzo does he is being Self-serving he acts as if he protecting the leaf village no matter what but all he really ends up doing is creating new villains for the Leaf village and undermining the village in operating in one accord.

I Personally respect Pain, Orochimaru way more because they upfront about their motives of why they want to destroy Konoha or the shinobi world. Meanwhile Danzo is supposed to be a leader in the leaf village but all he really is is an Hater who wants to be Hokage. The whole he will do anything to protect the leaf village narrative is way overblown. You can point to so many examples of him being this way including being jealous of the 2nd Hokage picking sarutobi to be 3rd Hokage, Trying to flat out kill the 3rd Hokage, even when he committed suicide to kill Sasuke and Tobi his flashback was basically him acknowledging that he never was able to keep pace with the 3rd Hokage as far as becoming Hokage. Also when you combine that he ended up dealing with people who wanted to destroy Konoha, and was a huge part of the continued mistrust of the Uchiha clan as well as being a reason that Nagato eventually ended up becoming pain among a few examples of why he sucks as a LEADER and CHARACTER. He couldn't have done that much better creating chaos in konoha if he had defected from the village and opposed them outright. That's how bad he is as a leader. Danzo's best attribute in this series is that he is easy to hate as an character or like if your into extreme fukkery, but this show has so much fukkery that his role in that is minimized.

Bro Kakashi had a f up childhood. His mother died when he was very young, his dad killed himself, his friend Obito sacrificed his life for him or so we thought, His other friend Rin ran into Kakashi's Chidori making it look like he killed her, and his sensei Minato died by the 9 tails. My point is in this that time Kakashi had everyone until everyone he was close to died. His parents, his team, his sensei gone. He had know one left.

I disagree, not every past needs rejection or death to be sad. The person who made sense of Kabuto's existence forgot about him and, believe me, my grandmother has amnesia and this is VERY painful. Also, he lost all of his childhood memories: what village he was from, who his family was, what he was called. And carrying that emptiness, he spent a lifetime trying to prove his worth. As Gaara once said, "But to live, you need a purpose, to live for nothing is the same as being dead".

I think I get and actually agree with what Rob was saying about the Uchiha being overhyped. To an extent. In the universe, they are seen almost as a race of gods when, pretty only four-five of them were godly, four of them being major forces in the story of Naruto himself, requiring them to be strong. They see it as a no win situation and almost worship Uchiha, but at the same time, they also saw Minato as a no win situation. And they were correct, he was invincible in his time except when he fought an Uchiha with one of their most powerful techniques.

Also he said the Uchiha are overrated and called them the clippers when they have more impact on this show than any other clan in Naruto. Even though I like them You can make an argument that that title belongs to the Hyuga clan because they are known as the mightiest in Konoha but they are not known for many major feats in past battles and wars. Outside of Hinata buying Naruto time and Neji's Sacrifice later on in this series what have they did to be dub the mightiest.

Well, that proves that almost all of them have weird taste in characters sometimes. Rob lives various characters who will do one or two things in an episode or arc, one-dimensional characters who are all good for a couple arcs before going into obscurity. But, hates on characters who show actual feelings and development. I can see the reason why Danzo is a favorite villain since a lot of the things that happened in the future was because of doing things that are a small price to protect the hidden leaf. Trying to Mother to kill Kabuto, but turning him into one of the most dangerous spies against the Leaf. Forcing Itachi to kill off the entire Uchiha Clan, but using their eyes and Orochimaru's research into the First Hokage's cells for himself. Endangering the village twice by not sending more ninjas to help the first time, killing a toad who tried to get Naruto, almost getting Tsunade killed, as well as putting the citizens in danger just to become Hogake. And that's still merely a couple of things. He's a good villain and shinobi in a fight, but a total a**hole.
