I'm very happy for her; it's rare for a Country album to be awarded when it's competing against other genres -- other than Taylor Swift's "Fearless" and Dixie Chicks' "Taking the Long Way," you have to go back decades to find a win like this. It's also rather interesting because Musgraves doesn't have the full support of Country radio behind her, and yet she's been able to account for that in other ways. Her fan base is actually larger than the Country core. I'm not a big fan of Country overall; but I loved "Golden Hour" because it has a lot to offer.

How this woman, despite ALL her success, managed to stay so authentic to herself is beyond me. I always feared that the industry and labels would have pushed her to make music with more mainstream appeal and market her as a pop star(especially because of how pretty she is) and while I’m 99.9% sure that did happen, Kacey has managed distance herself from the Hollywood scene and MTV awards and stay as grounded and as authentic as artist can get, putting her music first and transcending the genre she makes music for. Thoroughly deserved and is still a CRIMINALLY underrated artist.

(George Strait Loretta Lynn Alan Jackson Waylon Jennings Merle Haggard and such) i actually hate the new country music ike Florida Georgia line, but sadly country music isn't the same as it used to be, although Kacey is country pop she still keeps it a whole lot more country that others do today and i like that about her she has some great real country songs like good ol boys club.. she is definitely a great artist not "real country" artist but as a "new country" artist she is good!
