Mora and genkai aren’t necessarily chakra combos. Only the truth seeker orb and advanced natures like ice and scorch. Dust might be reachable. Genkai just means bloodline. Shikotsumyaku is just a genetic ability to manipulate bones. No nature transformation needed.

no, 'kekkei' means 'bloodline, 'genkai' means 'limit'. therefore 'kekkei genaki' is 'limit of the bloodline'. now, why is it called that? i'm not sure, maybe because it's 'the ultimate ability of the bloodline' or something. at any rate, in shippuden is is revealed that more powerful bloodline abilities are called either 'kekkei toa' or 'kekkei mora', and those ARE supposed to entail combining 3/more chakra natures, whereas 'kekkei genkai' are supposedly only a combination of 2 chakra natures; though this is somewhat plot induced stupidity seeing as the byakugan, sharingan, and other abilities which aren't related to combining chakra natures at all are also called 'kekkei genkai'

I just had a head cannon that Hamura had a couple of children like his brother and each one was the ancestors of the Hyuuga clan and Kayuga clan. I mostly thought that since they dressed a little similarly and even looked kind of similarly, the look similarly part is only because Kimimaro has a similar build and appearance to Neji while the nameless members of the Kayuga clan looked like the nameless members of the Hyuuga clan.

It would make sense for the Kaguya clan to be Hamura's descendants to even things off. Hagoromo had the Senju, Uzimaki and Uchiha. Hamura can have the Kaguya, Hyuga and Otsutski of the moon. The gold and silver brothers were related to Hagoromo, so whatever clan they are from is effectively a fourth clan descended from Hagoromo. What makes no sense, is Indra and Ashura has been emphasized, yet not one of Hamura's immediate children has ever been mentioned.

I personally believe that this clan is an offshoot of the Hyuga side of kaguya's bloodline. Mostly because we never actually see the sage of 6 paths using bone abilities. However, the two clans also have a similar esthetic being somewhat regal looking. It also seems that the flower dances and gentle fist have a similar attack method in terms of physical movement.

I wonder how many lesser clans branched off of the descendants of hamura and hagoromo besides the hyuga, Uchiha, senju, and uzumaki. There had to be plenty of people over that lengthy history who split from their clans and started families and clans of their own that we just don't know about. It's like the Senju and Uzumaki inherited the chakra of the gods, the Uchihas (and Hyugas?) inherited the visual prowess of the gods and the Kaguya clan inherited the hand to hand combat skills of the gods. @@flamingwolf8753 Uh no it wasn't because Gaara wasn't there the whole fight. Lee fought Kimimaro on his own for more than half the fight without Gaara. The point of the Sound Five part of Naruto was to give them extremely powerful opponents and make Orochimaru out to be a devious and clever enemy. Different plot points to this was that Sasuke was always going to escape, The sound 5 needed to be stronger than the Leaf Young Genin but they had to pull through assisting Naruto etc. Kimimaro had the Curse seal which boost you by default, then each level gives additional boost, Lee and kimimaro were going at it evenly when Lee was using Drunken Fist which is not really a boost just a Taijutsu technique he can only do while Drunk and Lee did not take off his weighs OR open Gates BUT Kimimaro used his Hack Curse seal and died of his sickness. So Lee used Drunken and Kimimaro couldn't beat him until it would wear off and Kimimaro HAD to use Curse seal when Gaara came. So let's say Kimimaro wasn't sick and went full Curse, and Lee Took off his weights and went Drunken and Gaara arrived. You really think Kimimaro winning that? No. But the story was written to end how it ended. Lee's Drunken state wore off, Gaara came as back up and Kimimaro dies almost killing them. Lee was Handicapped.

My standing theory on the clan's origins is that they resulted from a bearer of a kama of Kaguya, inheriting her alien biology from a completely separate lineage from her sons Given that Kaguya was so worried about maintaining her power and was actively preparing for a war with the Otsutsuki, it would only make sense for her to have implanted someone in the Elemental Nations with her kama seal. This wouldn't have helped her against Hagoromo and Hamura since they didn't actually kill her, meaning her soul wasn't available to reincarnate, but that would still have left at least one human who was partially or fully converted to Kaguya's genetic profile. Presumably, those genetics would also apply to that person's gametes (sperm or eggs), allowing them to hand down Otsutsuki characteristics to their offspring. This would explain both the Kaguya's possession of Dead Bone Pulse and the inhuman physiology that comes with it. This would also explain why Kimimaro was seemingly the only member of his clan with white hair. He had very strongly inherited the genes of his genetic ancestor, including the natural hair color of her race As for why the Kaguya clan bears that name, there are some reasonably inferences that can be made. For one, Kaguya hated sharing her chakra, so she would have kept anyone applied with her kama mark on a tight leash at best. Assuming she was preparing for war at this point, creating her zetsu army, she would have been seen as a demon by humanity. However, this doesn't mean she wouldn't have had people who worshiped her despite her ruthless and inhuman actions, or even explicitly because of those actions. Essentially, I expect that she had a cult that both worshiped and feared her power, and that she gave one or more of them her kama seal. This would explain why they bear her name, why they stylize themselves to her appearance, and why they feared Kimimaro. He was probably the strongest inheritor of Kaguya's bloodline seen in centuries, and the clan recognized that based on their legends. He wasn't sealed because they feared his strength; he was sealed because they feared his appearance and what it represented. He was a demon where their mythos was concerned

I think it's simply a clan who awakened the bone abilities of Kaguya. All shinobis are direct or indirect descendents of kaguya, so it's only natural different clans have access to different jutsus that Kaguya possesed. For example, Kaguya has the ability to use her hair to catch and attack enemies, something that we see Jiraya do as well earlier in the series

The lore for the Hyuga and Kaguya clan always kinda upsets me because while its clear there should be a connection to Kaguya; it really isn't elaborated on fully like the Uchiha/Senju/Uzumaki. Having Hamura go to the moon and have his own branch of the Otsutsuki strains things when they easily chould've just been clans on Earth that eventually broke into the hyuga (eyes like Uchiha) and Kaguya (Body like Senju/Uzumaki). Even them being names Kaguya could've been a manipulation on Black Zetsu's part since they are more removed than the others

Hamura's offspring was also split Sage eyes (Hyuga) and sage body (Moon otsusuki and Kaguya clan). This is probably why a moon otsusuki needed the eyes of a Hyuga in order to obtain the Tenseigan. Just like how madara a uchiha needed dna from hashirama senju who has a sage body in order to get the rinnegan.

Honestly, I think Kaguya was to the otsutsuki what a high functioning psychopath is to us humans. I know that was possibly my favorite episode of Early Naruto so I'm surprised by how much he got wrong about it. He also forgot that Kimimaro encountered both Zabuza & Haku after they had abandoned the Hidden Mist right before that fight.

Am more incline to belief that the Kaguya clan came from the Hamura lineage because Hagoromo had recessive genes thanks in part from the chakra fruit she consumed giving her the Rinnen sharingan in her forehead and Hamura had her Dominants ones the Byakugan and maybe the Bones manipulation🤔maybe like Hagoromo sons,Hamura had two kids one with the eyes and the other with the bones( dominant genes) before parting to the Moon. 🤔even thought Indra used the face paint that the Kaguya clansmen used so its still could be that the Kaguya clan most likely came from him 😅

It wasn't that rare. In the scene where the mist village was burning there bodies, you can see almost all of them had bones sticking out. Also during the fight you can see them using their bones also. Almost everyone in the clan had I'd, and the only reason why Kimimaru was locked up was because he was freakishly strong like itachi. They even say that's the reason...

I was under the exact same impression as nick, albeit its been a while since I saw og naruto. Maybe there is a better/worse clarification in manga vs. anime, assuming you are correct? Or possibly the anime throws shit in there filler style, same as Hagaromo's Sharingan/Mangekyou Sharingan lol

It’s said that they’re *descended* from kaguya. The explanation is simple, the four clans we knew of just weren’t the only ones. I don’t really understand the confusion, since being descended just means she was their ancestor. We know abilities dilute and mix over time with other genetics - they’re almost definitely just descendants further down the line than the uchiha and senju. Genetic traits aren’t always passed down to every child, either, so it’s very possible they were descended from later uchiha, senju, hyuuga or uzumaki; and the abilities skipped a few generations before people learned they’d been passed down. That would make them descended from kaguya, still, just longer after she was sealed than the other clans. Also, perhaps it was anime only, but I was under the impression that kimimaro *did* march into the mist, he was simply kept alive by his kekkai genkai and latent abilities. That’s how I remember it, anyhow.

The kaguya clan being born out of one of those four clans also makes a lot of sense when you remember how rarely their kekkai genkai appeared- if I remember correctly, it should be one of those once every few generations or hundred years things, like wood style seemed to be.

This would make sense both in the sense of the rarity of their kekkai genkai, and in the sense that when it did manifest, that would establish them pretty well as their own deal, being completely different from any of the other clan’s abilities. I’d wager it went like this: one of the clans, we’ll say senju as an example, births a kid with abilities like kimimaro, say one hundred years after kaguya was first dealt with. We know kekkai genkai are feared heavily in the Naruto world, so either their clan feared them and drove them away (especially if it was the hyuuga or uzumaki, definitely their style) or they struck out on their own and established the “kaguya” clan after a disagreement, discarding their previous one. Very madara-esque, but it makes the most sense to me. It’s even possible that zetsu manipulated them into forming the kaguya clan, I could think of a few reasons he might do something weird like that, and we know he was actively meddling in history for a long ass time.

Ithink ninshu made it possible to inherit techniques without being related by blood. Ninshu is sharing chakra, ideals emotions and experiences Also Not only was the divine tree sucking chakra, it was affecting & infecting the land. The same land which people eat, drink and breathe.
