Thanks so much. Really enjoyed Xmas Video. Well done on your choice of gifts for the kids. You really are very practical parents. Great to see. Oh Toby. Your new lure. What a shame the fish got away. All the best for 2024. Happy travels.🌞🤗🌞🌞

Toby's so keen on catching fish, he'll often happily head to the river or to the beach for a fish on his own even. We sure did have a great Christmas I think I'm still trying to lose some extra pounds I gained lol... Hope you had a great Christmas.

Oh thats so cool, lots to do in kaikoura, we really loved it there. I reckon it's a place I could live in, small town vibes, loads to do in the great outdoors, and plenty of wildlife.

A tip for keeping mussel on your hook. Empty out used tea bags and fill with mussel meat, they should stay on your hook.

Hello new to your channel .I found it interesting showing Robbins Cove or beach. In all my years living in NZ I had only flown into Dunedin for my girls wedding, that now many years have past and no longer living in NZ. Seeing the south island with your family is good to my eyes

we got some off the off cuts still from our lamb which are for curries, it's just been to hot to make a curry lol... My favourite part of this video is the kids telling me the weather isn't cool lol, cool snap shot of them.

Merry Christmas. Gotta love kiakoura coast. I recognise most bits as done that road many times to Chch in past but not recent. Thanks for the memories. Nice to see you in our back yard for a change. If want to connect contact Picton Vet. I bought my first caravan (same as traveling K's) 2 months ago, for an escape. Still learning but love it. Have fun.

It seems you were unknowingly continuing to following us around. :-) Cathie and I did part of the walk along the top that you ran, then came down a track and then walked back to the carpark. Highly recommend that to all visitors. There was a heron on the track at the top who nabbed a lizard from the long grass while we watch and waited. There are also Dotterels down among the seals. We did an evening walk west from the town carpark. It was getting dark and I wasn't sure where we could get back across the railway line, but there is a crossing at the end of the road by the New World. In the half-dark, without a torch, I nearly stumbled into a group of Dotterels which I think are nesting in the shingle along there. We just back tracked towards the water a bit until we got nearer the exit. We also got rained on there. :-) Great video. Christmas traditions? Turkey - not something you could do on the road very easily unless you had a Kettle BBQ. Christmas Pudding, followed by a snooze and or a walk. :-)

oh did you spend Christmas in Kaikoura as well??? I love some trifle for Christmas pud, but that was just going to be a bit to much... We def ate like kings and queens that day. The pennisula walk sure is a good one especially when you have eaten to much.

Top video as always Leopards! Good idea to do a u-turn and leave Kaiteriteri; I was there for a couple of nights to run some of the Abel Tasman track just after NYE and it was mental packed! Not too busy on the tracks though ;-) Good to see you going over the 5K subscribers; as I'm not self-contained I've been stopping at the Top 10s and have been passing on lots of local tips to all the European travellers, and when I've talked for longer than I should I just tell them to check out your channel, so expect a few more subscribers. Seriously though, if you could somehow tap into that community then your numbers would rocket, plus hundreds of travellers would discover more of the good stuff. Shame I didn't quite manage to catchup with you guys in Nelson Lakes; timing just didn't work; ended up heading straight to Hanmer then spending 2 days in bed real sick, and having to sail back to Kāpiti early :-/ Ah well, had a great 3 weeks adventure, catch you on the next one maybe!

MERRY CHRISTMAS.......we prefer to get experiences for Christmas, kids have enough stuff. They still have some presents but nowhere near what they used to have. I got the girls a poo like that a few years ago haha. Strange seeing a christmas in the summer.
@leopardsgowild10 ай бұрын
Thats they way to go alright, experiences, kids will generally still get gifts from grandparents and stuff, but like you say, kids have so much stuff these days, was a nightmare when we were moving out of our house, we had boxes of kids toys most of it was handed down from friends, but amazing how your house can get filled up.

Loved this episode (you know why haha😂). What a great second Kaikoura experience for you guys. That horrible cloud cover can hang around a lot with blue sky to the west. You could always walk out at the seal colony pre-earthquake but there was def still good uplift there. The seals tend to be further out now but still come right up and lie on the footpaths by the carpark 🙂
@leopardsgowild10 ай бұрын
Such a cool spot, that cloud was pretty annoying, we were waiting for the sun to pump, although it probably would have been to hot if it was out... Good to know about the uplift, what a crazy thing to take place aye... I remember learning about the uplift in Napier which was massive, there used to be tidal islands that are now housing, sports fields and businesses.
