Kain Tips and Tricks

Kain can be VERY overwhelming, take it slow, and get a feel for everything as you go. Getting your skills in chunks at each job advancement, and taking the time to learn and understand them is paramount to finding your footing here.
You have a LOT of skills, an excessive amount, but all of them play an important role to how this class functions and feels. Kain is a delicate dance of cooldowns. Both for your bossing and your mobbing.
Finding mobbing rotations for this class is going to be quite fun, since all of your main skills, as well as their possession enhanced versions, function uniquely. Different effects, hitboxes, and uses. So finding a way for them to flow together, kind of like my MTS3 rotation for Mihile, is something I look forward to doing.
Bossing is a very focused experience, that will probably turn into muscle memory to those of you who choose to play this class as your main. There is a rhythm to the bossing, that can start to feel really nice, once you get a hang of it. Again, I'm not sure how dramatically GMS AS0 is going to affect their overall damage, but as it feels with AS2, the class is pretty dang good.
Take this one slow, really. Don't sprint to 5th job without reading any of the skills, because diving into the deep end with this class, is overwhelming, to say the least.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter too much when you start using execute skills, as long as you're not letting them sit at the cap.

Thanks for the video my man. :) I kind of feel weird because I main a bowmaster and do use many skills. But the movement type it has, and the comboing factors. So It'll take me some time to get used to it. But as an archer main these days. This should be fun. Much love.

I literally trained with only the basic skill up to lvl 100 because dmg is so OP you can 1hko almost everything (up to Leafre anyway)

I came back to Maple Story after few years 😄. I think Kain is fun to play, ya have to say Strike Arrow not as good as other job main attack skill, especially compare to Adele (just play Adele then try Kain)

You got this! Kain is overwhelming at first but eases up with muscle memory. The class is super rewarding to main. Scales well, with some pretty insane skill expression.

Honestly, tutorials/tips/how-to's videos on Kaine tend to reaaally make him so difficult. Like the video said; it's a hands on class.. meaning listening to explanations isn't really going to help you understand per se. It's useful when you wanna know what the skills do but to actually get into nit and grit of it? You need to play as Kaine yourself and ease in. I swear, it's only overwhelming when you only start to understand how his Possesion and Execute skills work AFTER your 4th advancement. So what you wanna do is really ease in from his first job and work your way up to the highest. A really fun class imo, with great payoff when running bosses.

Great video, very informative. Too bad my ping is shit and possesion felt worse than Dawn Warrior's dual-stance or whatever it's called, also I feel the class is unnecesarily complex, Evan is wack but kinda makes sense for it's concept, Zero, Cadena and Blaster are crazy but fun if you like combo styles but Kain is too high micro-managing and low rewards, i think I'll pass on it's Link Skill

@@notti9351 Any class where your ability to play the class depends on your latency. People close to the servers, actions they take might take 0.1s for the server to react and acknowledge it, people with a high latency however it could take upwards of a whole second. (Like where you've attacked a mob but it takes a second or so to die from the hit, or when you try to loot items without the pet and for some it's fast, others it's slow) A ping class is one where their skills are dependant on latency and basically become unplayable if you have a long delay between what you want to do and what the server allows you to do.

@@notti9351 So since the main version of this game is KMS, a lot of things such as job balancing doesn’t take ping into account because everyone on the KMS server who lives is Korea has less than 15 ping. This is an issue when KMS updates are ported to let’s say GMS where the servers are in LA, where someone on the East coast of NA would get 70+ ping to GMS servers.

Boost nodes aren't bad, they're just u g l y. You have 8 total skills that can be boosted, and you need all of them. 8 skills do not fit into 9 boost node slots. So you're going to have 1/3 of two trios, wasted on a repeat skill. It's a very awkward choice Nexon made.

They're more 'involved' and let them be more creative with power budgets, since skill directly correlates to damage. When done right, they're very rewarding to play, if at the cost of being very off-putting to casual players of the class.

Officially, it's both 'Kine' and 'Cane' for pronunciation. GMS VAs call the class Cane, where its official name is supposed to be 'Kine'. So really, say whichever you like.
