Plasma balls don't use a very low pressure gas mixture. They usually have about 0.6 bars, higher than neon signs.

Do you have a source for that information? Can´t believe it.

@@KainkaLabs Just google plasma ball pressure. If it had a low pressure filling the whole globe would glow evenly and thin, long arcs would never form.

Probably steel wool was originally connected to transformer wire and pushed inside sphere by plastic tube.

Did you find the material from the mini plasma-disk with the bumps? I'd love to DYI one of these things and trying to figure it out. Also, in another video, you had a schematic of the plasma plate - have you posted that anywhere?

I think it is the same material used in cathode-ray tube.

I can get that current out and it does burn your skin like you said. You can see water vapor mists coming off your skin at the point of contact.

That is quite unusual. Then you must one with extremely high power :-) Perhaps there is some leakage???

Wikipedia says it is Phosphor inside of the Plasma disks ;-)
@KainkaLabs Жыл бұрын
"Phosphor" is technically a very general term for all kinds of fluorescent (or phosphorescent) substances. So it is with 99% certainty not the chemical element phosphor.
