You have 50% of dmc3 vergil down, after you randomly change weapons and mash you also mash summoned swords. Once you do that you've totally mastered him.

Dmc3 vergil is so much fun, nothing like perfecting the jump cancel on beowolf and just hearing vergil go "HRAGH HRAGH HURRRGH HRAG HRAG" so satisfying.

For vergil. You wanna map shoot to being right bumper, map lock on to right trigger, and map the other cycle weapon button to square. And then upgrade vergils summon swords AS FAST AS YOU CAN. After doing that, just spam right bumper in tangent to all of your moves and watch the game turn into easy mode on any difficulty lmao. For dante, on first playthrough I recommend getting air hike for rebellion, and just swapping to rebellion everytime you need to jump for an air combo for other weapons. It's an extra step ik, but it's worth it in the end since the upgraded versions of moves are GOATED. Especially stinger, almost all of nevans moves, Beowulf's moveset, etc. Also also, before I forget. For both vergil and dante, you can hold the dt button to charge dt explosion. It charges slowly so you gotta hold it and pay attention to everything else going on, and it does the most dmg during the midst of a combo. At a maximum dt explosion, bosses at dmd get shredded, and rooms of enemies can disappear in a flash. Which is also why dt is so important and overpowered, so taunting, and sheathing vergils katana at the end of his yamato moves is important. Jump cancelling is goated as well in dmc3, but its timing is precise. Idk any other things to put here. Dmc3 is my favorite game in the franchise

Great Start with Vergil is to press square and triangle at the same time or back to back during combos. The summon swords don't interrupt animations. This works in ALL GAMES

Vergil's double jump in all games is his teleport up. I foget what it's called but you use it to get to higher places after jumping up wards.

fun fact, using your summoned swords in this game uses the swords surrounding you instead of adding others so you can't spam the moves but you can spam the normal shot. Another juicy video once again we already knew

Hot tip, put your thumb between square and triangle and wiggle it from side to side to do combos while firing summoned swords constantly.

That's prob not a good idea since you won't be able to jump/roll or teleport as fast or conveniently if you do that. I think you're better off binding summoned swords to L1/LB

vergil can shoot and melee at the same time, thats why his damage numbers are way higher than dantes, also aircombo yamato is op against cerberus and many other enemys where you struggle with dante but dante is more indepth, he has like hidden combos where you have to button mash in certain attacks to make more damage. Nevan is highly underrated and the best Weapon for Dante. For an advanced player only, pair it with Agni and Rudra, and of course Swordmaster style, thats how i did Dante must Die 500 years ago when DMC 3 first released.

Combo potential for 3 Vergil is there. But it depends on your mastery of Jump Canceling and summon sword setups. That's how the combo mads do it anyway.
