Indeed, Kaizo Mario 64 is actually the easiest of the "extreme" SM64 Hacks due to the way it was built. After all, this hack only modifies object placement, no actual level geometry. Not to say that object placement alone can't make for a harder hack, but this one happens to be pretty easy indeed.

Kenneth Pettersen this game is hard on its own, but there is still a lot of things to pull off... if a game gets beaten by 6 min or so then it is still not very optimised. I think that even sub 2:45 is possible, so kudos to simpleflips and to frameperfection but there is still lot to do..

I have a route question. I'm somewhat familiar with SM64 spreedruns, but in KM64, the 100 coin star seems to be done on stars that *aren't* red coin stars. Is there something in Kaizo that changes to a less efficient routing?

The routes are certainly less optimized in KM64 since it's not run by many people and making things as easy as possible is a very valid concern in this game, but the main reason why some 100 coin stars are collected on a star that isn't red coins has to do with the changes made to the game. Many stars have big clusters of coins near a particular star such as Rainbow Rides Big House in the Sky. In THI you need some coins from the small island (which also happens to have the secrets), and so on.

What is your strategy for climbing up the collapsing bridges in Whomp's Fortress? They always collapse under me and eat my jumps.

Hence why I named my splits file "Eating Inputs Simulator - A Button %". I'm actually referring to exactly that problem, and while there are some ways to get better chances at making the jumps on those platforms, the ultimate strategy to them (for me anyways) is to just reset when it goes wrong... Luckily it's a pretty early split though, so it's not too terrible :P

Frame Perfection So you would say the the currect world record of the original SM64 is more impressive than this, even though this is clearly the more difficult version of the two? How would you compare yourself with, for example, Cheese05 in terms of skill? Would you be a able to compete with his time in SM64 or is his skill on a whole other level than yours?

I think it's mostly a matter of practice - I have done this run within just about a month of picking this game up again (I had some time put into it previously). In comparison, cheese has been running sm64 actively for almost 3 years, pretty much straight. This makes it so the sm64 runs are far better than this run, but I believe given the same amount of time, I could definitely compare to cheese in sm64. I won't do that though because I'm barely even motivated to continue running hacks, let alone something that would take years of practice from where I am now. Hope this gave you some insight :)
