I think when Charlene was talking to Carlene (before she joined the show in her place) on the phone once, she said to give her love to "Harlean, Marlene, Darlene, Virgil, Frank, Dwayne, Odell (who did a guest spot in one episode) & Bill Hugh". If I remember right & continuity was maintained throughout the run, Charlene came from a family of 10 siblings.

From what I remember this show was basically just The Southern Golden Girls but Meshach Taylor helped make it feel a little different. He was of the rare breed of black stars from that time in predominantly white shows that not only became very popular but got emmy nominated for the role, others being such gems as Robert Gulliame, Tim Reid and Ron Glass. I also remember always seeing this dude on something whether it was Class Act with Kid N Play or the sitcom All of Us as Neesee's deadbeat dad lol R.I.P.

Say it louder so the folks in Hollywood could hear it in the back some shows you just can't reboot and everything is so politically correct today it wouldn't be as funny when you could still have a difference of opinion and not want to kill each other all the 80s the last great decade there hasn't been anything original sense everything is remake reboot sample Beats it's like there's nothing new to discover anymore in the entertainment field😑
