I'm not sure on this one, it seems like this deck doesn't know what it wants to do. It's part storming off with Thousand year storm and urabrask, part spell copying but also running a lot of sorceries which don't synergize with kalamax, and also part go wide which is not that impressive when you're just casting a large spell every now and then. I think with a commander like this it's best to choose a route and focus on those synergies instead of trying to do everything

This deck is my favorite ever since I started Magic when Ikoria dropped. I think it's a little directionless, I don't really see bombs that win games like expansion//explosion, no twinning staff, no nexus of fate. I actually prefer to play one instant a turn with kalamax and keeping mana up to play double instants on my opponents turns. Just some other cards I'd use would be Veyran, voice of duality, lier disciple of the drowned, crop rotation, and lands that give kalamax trample like kessig wolf run and skar rage pits

It’s definitely a different list. I didn’t want to take the normal “I’ll cast this copy spell go infinite and kill you with my infinite power Dino route”. The main win cons revolve around setting up a board state or a massive storm turn. This will give the list more variance and hopefully lead to a more enjoyable play pattern for the pilot and the people the pilot is playing against. Alandra can make a board state fairly quickly and it’s super easy to draw 5 cards to set off her pump effects. Deekah can also make a board state pretty fast then we just need to cast a surge to victory or a return to the wild speaker to end the game. Savage beating can also get us there very quickly ( 3 combat steps with double strike) The storm wins involve either thousand year storm, a solid past in flames, or bonus round to make a massive commander and win with either Chandra’s ignition or souls fire. It’s definitely different but the normal route just didn’t jive with me 😁

I'd like to see a tech for Sergeant John Benton from the Doctor Who set. Basically draw your deck and use a lot if pump spell. Throw in Azusa to play the lands you draw and Psychosis crawler and Viseling to punish opponents for also drawing cards. Maybe close out with Spontaneous generation and End-raze forerunners? Or just go the straight commander damage route, maybe a budget brew?

So just to clarify, if you're casting a spell and copying it, does it count as casting a 2nd spell or no? I don't play this style of deck so it never crossed my mind. I was going to build Eris but this honestly looks like maybe it'd be more fun.

Copies Usually don't count as casts, unless it mentions "cast the copy"

Depends if you make a copy of the card or a copy of a spell on the stack. Copies of spells aren't cast, but copying a card does mean you gotta cast it to get the effect.
