It seems like many people completely disagree about how practical the detachable mirror is. I am so glad that some people will get good use out of it, but sadly it's not for me. I just wanted to explain a tiny bit more about what I was trying to demonstrate (which in no way was trying to mock anyone who uses mirrors in palettes). When I use mirrors in palettes (which I do fairly often) I like to have the palette in one hand and my brush in the other... and I don't have three hands to hold a detached mirror, which is what I was clumsily trying to demonstrate in the video. I am glad some people love it, I would love it too if you could magnetically attach the mirror to the palette facing forward, but as it is I think it is a step down from standard palette packaging. But I do like that Kaleidos are experimenting with their packaging.

I really liked how you did that last look. I'm a watercolorist so it really spoke to me. Sometimes I envy people who have lips. They get to wear beautiful colors. I have the most thinned line of lips. Could never pull off anything darker than clear lip balm. So I'll live vicariously through your videos. Thanks for another awesome video.

Haha thank you! Luckily this pointed applicator helps a lot! I applaud you for being able to use lip liners, I always ruin the shape of my lips when I use a lip liner!

I loved the first eye look and the topper/shimmer applied sparingly did add great dimension in my opinion. You never look clownish. Would never have thought of the combo of chartreuse on lid and pink on lash line.

It definitely added another dimension but I think it distracts from the matte shades, which I liked the tones of more than the shimmers. The shimmer was too bubblegum pink and that’s not what I wanted. Sometimes I’m not the best at explaining my thoughts haha

That last look is so beautiful - you have such a skill in being able to pull together a full face that is flattering and cohesive but unique and fun; on top of rad colourful outfits and gorgeous hair! I bought the whole collection (besides the dresser) & am so happy I did. The lip products are beautiful & the colors they chose are so complimentary. The formula is comfortable & reminds me of the Julep liquid lipsticks. The palette is good and I have really enjoyed pairing it with other products. The lip mask is my least favorite, but it is still functional. I think our opinions on this collection are very similar & I look forward to what Kaleidos does next.

I'd much rather be able to set down my eyeshadows and have a light mirror to hold up and use. So many palettes are too heavy for me to use the mirror that comes with it, so I end up using a separate mirror and setting.down the palette. I adore the packaging and creativity that went into the design

Oh to not be nearsighted and not to know the struggle of holding a palette really close to see what you're doing, the mirror not flattening out enough and the chin dipping into the shadows.

Yeah, right? People are acting like that mirror is a useless gimmick but I'm sitting here in love because I can finally use a mirror in a palette without breathing in the product. No, a mirror sitting on your desk is not more practical when you can only see clearly for a hand's width.

@@KitschSnitch It's just that the way you said it and artificially held both parts of the palette in both hands sounded like you were making fun of anyone who would find that set up with a detachable mirror useful. I mean, who would seriously consider holding both parts each in one hand? Really?! Maybe I'm just jaded and tired of reviewers dismissing anything that that does not match their favourite setup as "Who asked for this?!". For a lot of nearsighted people the only way to apply makeup is having a mirror reaaaally close to our eyes, close enough that 1. any standing mirror will be hit by hands/brushes and knocked over five time in one application and 2. we're breathing in the product if it's a mirror attached to the palette. So while we generally have arranged ourselves with the situation, as the commenter I originally replied to pointed out, this palette is genius for us, even if it does not fit your preferences and making fun of that really wasn't fun to watch.

I thought I'd be regifting the brown but I LOVE IT. it has kind of a pinky undertone (could be my lips) that's so flattering. It's like 1994 threw up on my lips. I am finding I'm enjoying the unexpected with this palette. I've used earthship to deepen the mint and used the chlorophyll in inner eyelid with the pink soju in the crease and darker pink to deepen. I was shocked at how well chartreuse and pink were blending. I really commend kaleidos on staying fresh.

I love that about the palette too! The shades do work well together and it encourages you to play and experiment. I LOVE the brown too! I would have thought it was one of the shades I use the least, but I want to wear it more and more, especially now that its winter in Australia.

I was trying to be restrained, so I just bought the brights box and the lip mask. The lip clay formula is amazing, and unlike anything I’ve ever used before (and I’m in my 40s). If you apply a light layer of powder under the eye before applying lid color any fallout at all just whisks away without any problems.

So, funnily enough, I actually really like that the mirror is detachable. I am *incredibly* near-sighted (and I choose to wear glasses, not contacts) so I have to hold mirrors really close to my eye-holes in order to actually see what I am doing (we're talking like six inches away - I am 20/800...). This doesn't work well with typical palettes - I can't maneuver both a brush and a giant palette around, so I usually just resort to a hand mirror while setting the palette down. This design totally mitigates the need for me to have a hand mirror - I realize this is a somewhat niche perspective, but surely some of my other near-sighted glasses wearers will share this sentiment! Haha. Thanks for the great review - gave me some good ideas for the next time I play with this palette.

That's great that it works! I do use the mirror in palettes when I am doing my makeup not at my desk, but I find that I like to hold my palette in one hand and the brush in the other, so I prefer a mirror that is attached, because I don't have 3 hands to hold a separate mirror haha. That's mainly why I didn't think it was practical

Beautiful eye looks and lip swatches. Gorgeous baby boy :) I am wondering if the teal lipstick is eye safe and how it wears on the eyes. The tins are pretty and re-useable.

I could dupe this palette vibes with my singles but I want to buy it & have it as a whole palette,because it’s unique it reminds me of melt 420 mixed with Juvia’s place douce but BETTER !! At first I thought I’d buy the hot pink, peachy nude & the brown lipstick, now I want them all 😂🤦🏾‍♀️ I could see myself wearing them all the time in every season too ! I’m more into matte blurry lipsticks than glossy lips ! I’m always walking against the flow? Is that how you say it lol 😂 I tried their blue lipgloss & I liked it but I think it create a film on my lips & then it dry them out ! So I started putting Vaseline lip balm then the gloss on top & that helped! I’m more interested in EM cosmetics lipgloss ( caramel glaze ) , I don’t like have multiple liquid lipsticks or glosses open tho ! 😷 so I need o figure out how on earth I’m going to use all 8 liquid lipsticks!!! 😬

The colourstory of the palette isn't really my cup of tea. Just because I don't think it would suit me but I like that kaleidos is doing something different. But I am really interested in the nude lip bundle. It looks so good but is sadly currently out of stock. I really enjoy those videos from you because I get a better idea of the product then if I just saw a first impression.

Idk if anyone’s asked this already, but how would you compare the lip formula to kaleidos’s original/first lip formula ? I bought those after seeing your review of them so I’m super keen to see how you think they compare (especially since it seems they don’t sell those anymore lol)

Oh sorry I should have mentioned that! These are quite different to those, they were like a thin sheer (for the nudes, pigmented for the reds) more traditional formula liquid lipstick that give a blotted matte look to the lips. These are more of a silicone feeling mousse that stays feeling quite balmy on the lips even though they set down and don't transfer. I think these give a more "cloud" like matte finish to the lips because of that silicone diffused finish. I don't know if that makes sense.

I don't think it's an ugly color story, but I feel like this can be a bit jarring and not user friendly. I wish they'd commit to either a pastel palette, or a deep grungy one, not both. I did make a somewhat similar custom palette in winter using blues, pinks and grungy greens, but mine had more earthy tones and less vibrant shades. I enjoyed using it and should prolly use that instead if I ever get the itch to use pinks and greens together again. What bothers me most about Kaleidos is the repetition of certain colors in their range, while there might be slight differences in shifts and whatnot, those will likely look very similar on the eye, so I don't see the point.

Idk if you ever corrected yourself but the first nude lip is Adobe not Abode. The nudes are all different words for clay or dirt. Yes, my name means earth/dirt. Beautiful looks and cute little kiddo!!

Yep! That definitely works, I just keep forgetting to go get tape when I am doing my makeup, so a slight agitation with the back of the brush works well too, but tape is also a great option!
