I do agree Tyler is the best version of an adult Clark since Chris Reeve, I disagree with him being the best Superman though. I think Cavill's Superman has a better look and with some "Tweaks" could have been much better. Cavill was let down by the directions and scripts.

@@KalElCanFly that's interesting. Tyler has easily overtaken Henry for me in all ways. He looks like a great Superman for sure and I agree his material wasn't great, but we have to judge based on what is actually presented and not on what if's or could have beens. So that's why Tyler takes it for me. He's the most secure and sure of himself. He doesn't hesitate ever. He knows his power, he knows his morals, and he trusts himself. He doesn't feel burdened by being Superman and he just has a beautiful heart and believes in the good of people. Henry's Superman didn't really have that. He even says in BVS, that no one stays good in this world. And that's a few years into his career as Superman, 20 years in and Tyler's Superman hasn't lost that optimism and that's who Superman is at his core. At least for me. But obviously, we're allowed out own opinions!

I literally had the same reactions as you guys did, in both the first and 2nd half, it was sooooo intensely good, in the 2nd half I was pulling at my hair screaming at my laptop, I was literally on the edge of my seat just like going "no no, come on, please no damn it" and all that, this series is just intensely amazing and epically awesome, love how Jordan stood up to "uncle Morgan" like he did, I feel like he's starting to come into his own and all... It wont be on next week, even though the E12 promo said the 13th, but its coming back on at the end of July, which is the 27th, well that's what I've been seeing on Twitter a lot, cos the S1E15 finale is on the 17th of August...

If HBO Max knocks this out of the park like they have been doing, then I do hope they spin of a Green Lantern series. I like how this series has been avoiding major political discussion points, apart from mental and emotional disorders, and has focused on just telling a story of Superman and those closest to him. Having a show that entertains more than it preaches is very refreshing. I am not saying avoid all politics, some need to be discussed, after all Star Trek TOS broke through HUGE political barriers in it's time, it just didn't make it and every episode thing like many modern shows do. Focusing on telling a captivating story is something I have long missed in recent years of television, this show has been refreshing.

The thing about this version of Kal-El is that on this world he has a family and a wife to steer his heart towards, something to strive for, something to fight for, something that will always be there to believe in him. The other world Kal-El did not have Lois, and most likely had no one to rely on. Whether that Kal-El was mind controlled by another Kryptonian consciousness or evil was something he chose, this Kal-El has more at stake and more to believe in here. On that world he probably lost his Pa Kent and more than likely Ma Kent died too within the same window of time this one did, with no one left to lift him up in his time of grief like Lois and the boys, he likely gave in to his grief and pain. I don't think this Kal-El will falter, he may play like he is possessed or maybe he will be to some degree, but he has to much to lose to give in and become what John Henry Irons' world Superman became. What he said to Lois was likely a code, saying "He was right" after the I wish I had more time, was likely a code for Lois to call him. My guess is they have had a plan formed with JHI for a few episodes now behind the scenes in the event this happens. Not too mention Clark had time to talk with Lara and they may have come up with a plan in the event something happened to him as a fail safe or a way to resist the mind control.

I agree with a lot of what you say. And yes, I have a friend who has waited for a good live action GL for years, I'm sure he isn't the only one. It will blow the CW up and this show will get a whole new audience. What can Dig do if he isn't GL? It doesn't make much sense for him to be there.

@@KalElCanFly Him being a cameo could in some way be a nod to the pressing question "is this an Arrowverse show or a Multiverse variation?" Yes there is much that is similar with this show and the Lois and Clark from Supergirl, different proposal, no Supergirl at the wedding, no Flash, no anyone from the Arrowverse for that matter until the next episode, so this may unfortunately be only a nod to the Arrowverse and nothing more. However my hopes are it is more than that though. I loved the Crisis crossovers because of the expanding universes and call outs to so many other universes both old and new. Wasn't all the greatest writing, but I am a "Chris Reeves Superman" kid and what they did to honor that story through Brandon Routh, as well as help him close his door on him playing that Superman, gives me high hopes for what they could do for Diggle/John Stewart.

Plus just Diggle being his wise sage self is enough reason alone. I want him to be GL of course, but he's such a great character I'm happy to see him in any capacity.

Sooooo I'll just ask the question....did Evil/Superman have a family on John's earth? Could be. As we saw, the one thing that made this totally wholesome guy give in was a threat to his family. We were all speculating that Evil/Superman was possessed by another kryptonian consciousness. What we didn't think about was how Edge got to him. Food for thought.

It's certainly possible. This has to end differently though, somehow. Maybe there were no twins since he wasnt with Lois. No Jordan with powers. If Kal is still weak maybe Jordan can match him.

Typically within Superman lore his body gives off a protective aura that also protects the suit from damage unless there is a being powerful enough to break through it. Although they haven't specifically said so in this show I am assuming that would be the explanation.

I enjoyed this week's episode but i personally hate the ending of that episode because i hate whenever any Superman adaptation especially in video games have superman turn evil. Shows on CW take way too many breaks during the seasons which is one of my big pet peeves when it comes to shows being on CW. My favorite part of this week's episode is when Clark was training his Speed and Flight with joy. This show is excellent even though i much prefer the Superman stuff over the family stuff and grounded stuff.

@@KalElCanFly In 1x07 did you notice when John got super angry and emotional ,it triggered Jordan. Like almost weakened him. What if, John is his counterpart. Remember in 1x06, the punch by Jordan would have shattered a regular person entire arm but John essentially stopped and was quick as well. We see Jordan being strong but not quick. In addition, remeber how he was able to grab wirh BOTH hands the hammer and was able to kinds throw it at the solar panel. Also, from 1x06-1x08 time has barley passed and his arm is already healed. I think John has powers that will counter his brothers but needs an emotional trigger to trigger them. I think he’s gonna to semi get them in the s1 finale.

Because television has the advantage of time over movies to tell a story. We have watched the equivelant of 4 to 5 movies of the show at this point. So i dont think it is unfair to compair a tv show to a movie, especially one with the production value this show has.
