Can we talk about how good the kids arc and plot are for a tv show. There is no unnecessary drama, like having the twins fight over a girl, no kids running off more than they probably should to get involved with the villains' plot without the parents knowing. I am sure they plan on getting the kids in on the action with time, but for right now they are letting them build them up as people and in skill level.

I liked they cut out the Lois being into Superman first before she fell for Clark as himself. Some fans still give Lois grief for that and claim she only loves Clark because he is Superman. It makes sense to just skip over that aspect of their story, even if it is the most well known parts, and just have Lois fall for Clark as himself and never having a thing for his alter ego. Nip the that whole misconception right in the bud.

It’s not so much they cut it. They basically just made Lois more interested in Superman’s motives while being more attracted to Clark’s character. Her falling for Superman first is actually a very sexist subtexts basically suggestion that Lois ruins to the man literally all powerful but ignores the dorky reliable dude around her all the time. It’s actually more realistic that a reporter like Lois who be constantly questioning the actions of Superman but being a military brat and a strong woman herself would be attracted to a more emotional person not knowing he’s superman

I'm so glad they actually did something with the Morgan Edge character. Every live action version and the in the few comics I've seen him in he's been the typical "Evil Corporate Guy". They've done an amazing job adding much needed layers to the character and have successfully changed his story while it being believable.

The Arrowverse wiki has you covered. Superman and Lois had the twin boys as seen in this episode in 2007. In the original pre-crisis, Earth 38 timeline, they went to Argo and had Jonathan in 2019. Also, Clark proposed to Lois in 2018 in Earth 38 lore. Obviously in Earth-Prime he proposed and they got married much sooner.

The original Crisis event was used to reboot the whole DC universe to overhaul some characters and or their histories. We saw last year that CW Crisis did something similar for shows last season. To me it makes the most sense that Clark and Lois’ history was rebooted . Instead of Clark and Lois getting together later in life and having one kid on Argo in the rebooted universe they got together sooner and had the twins much earlier and on Earth. Kara not being at the wedding could be that Kara hadn’t landed on Earth yet and the Argo stuff. In this rebooted universe it is possible that by the time Kara got to Earth and was adopted by her human family until after the twins were born. I think the show is taking advantage of Crisis to make their own thing and then attribute all changes to Crisis.

Titans, Swamp Thing, Stargirl etc don't know about crisis with a few outliers (possibly DCEU Flash cause he meet Barry but didn't learn exact details, and the Superman that Bradon Roth played but he didn't get his memories restored.) Martian Manhunter informed everyone who forgot within the superhero circle. They do not know that the multiverse was reborn after Crisis but do know refugee doppelgangers without a planet could have arrived on the Earth after crisis regardless of when in time. Flash and Batwoman have showcase this and Superman and Lois have followed the rules of crisis. Regardless of all this the next seasons of the Arrowverse shows will start with a crossover, so I'm fairly certain Superman and Lois takes place on Prime Earth.

Superman now has red heat vision post-crisis but Kara doesn't, new costume, different people play Sam Lane and Morgan Edge, Fortress of Solitude is different than the one in Supergirl, no Kara at the funeral, Smallville looks different (it's as if Central City was moved to Florida after Crisis). Wouldn't that be odd that the Superman show has 99% more changes happening to their reality than any of the other shows whose changes are barely noticeable save The Flash? Even at the end of this episode, Lois could have called Kara, if this is still the same Superwimp that keeps getting bested by her, so that she could neutralize him easy peasy instead of Steel or at least thinks about calling her even if they can come up with a reason why not like in Legends.

The breaks are making me mad! This is the best show. It looked so cinematic when Clark and Tal-Rho both discovered their fortresses. I hope Clark can restore Jor-el's hologram, I mean Tal-Rho was wrong for that...he still got Zeta-Rho as his hologram. Clark's flashbacks actually being a probing by Tal-Rho to get information was a good af twist. So now Clark has been turned evil by Zeta-Rho and Tal-Rho's fortress. Your comments about the padded suit reminded me of an interview with Tyler back around the fourth season of Teen Wolf. He mentioned that he was somewhat relieved that his character was not an alpha werewolf anymore because he felt that, as an alpha, he had to be in absolute top shape, so he had cut all carbs and was at the gym all the time, but as a beta he could take it a bit easier and have a pizza every now and then. :-D

Supergirl came out in 2015. So I am guessing she only became Supergirl in 2015. While Clark was Superman for a while when she first became Supergirl. So therefore I think she was on earth just growing up while Clark and Lois got married and had the boys. This show is in the Arrowverse because they were supposed to have a Superman and Lois and Batwoman crossover with some other characters appearing. But because of Covid they couldn’t. Also Lois did say “with what we know about the multiverse” to Clark in episode 7. So they kinda referenced it there. Guessing season 2 will have more connections but since Covid happened they scrapped those ideas for this season. I also love how they told his origin where took the best parts of other Superman stories. Like the throw of the crystal in the ground was Donner’s Superman. Him running and then when he started to fly was very man of steel like. Then the scene where he sees Lana and Kyle reminded me of smallville. They had moments where it reminded me of Fleisher’s Superman. Had some moments that reminded me of Superman Returns and Lois and Clark.

One possible error I’m seeing in this episode is that Clark came back to Smallville in at least 2004 and then became Superman after that but Kara said he was already Superman in 2003 when she came to earth. Maybe they messed up or something changed.

How'd the CW end up cracking the Superman code? This IS the guy we've been reading about in comics forever. S&L is a near perfect fusion of the first two Christopher Reeve films, Smallville, and Man Of Steel. Also liked that the Tal-Rho flashbacks(Fortress in a desert, evil holo father) were an inversion of Clark's story. The Friday Night Lights easter egg was a nice reference to that movie/TV show being an inspiration to this series but it does screw with the timeline a bit. Clark is supposed to have been Superman for about 20 years now but FNL came out at the end of 2004. Doesn't leave as much time for Clark and Lois to meet, have a few adventures, get together, and start a family with two boys in their mid teens but the dates still work, if barely. Maybe Seinfeld is a Captain America fan in that universe

If I was the guys I'd consider dropping The Flash. It looks like a chore for them to get through each new episode

@@galonski64 really? What do you like about the other shows (genuine question cause I like these convos lol) to me, The Flash is barely about the Flash. Batwoman is god-awful. Supergirl is what it is at this point. Black Lightning is gone. I don’t even know what Legends is anymore. The continuity is dead. Superman and Lois is the only show that makes feel like a little kid again.

@@kdubbss0583 I don't know. I grew up with super hero shows and movies. I've always enjoy the animation and the live action. I watch them because they are fun, I enjoy the charcters, the stories and what will happen next.

I think it's possible they used the eradicator to put Edge's father into Clark's body. Might be wrong, but that last shot looked like.

I hope at this first season finale at episode that somebody would make Superman not corrupt, need somebody to use the kryptonite against Morgan Edge or Tah-Rol to take him down and have Superman exiled his brother to the Phantom Zone where Tah-Rol would have a hard time escaping like how Superman's cousin Supergirl escaped with her dad earlier in the season.

I think Superman will be saved next episode. I'm pretty sure that Tal-Ro will have a change of heart after realizing how crappy his life has been, and in the finale there will be a major battle with Steel, Superman, Jordan, and Morgan Edge vs Zeta-Ro and a giant army of human-bodied Kryptonions. But who knows, we'll have to wait and see...

@@mattoreo5854 I don't know Tal-Ro ever will change because his whole life he saw the humans as the threat in his own mind and never have love for humans like Superman have for Lois. Tal-Ro may not be reasonable to have a change of heart as he would be taken down and being sent to the Phantom Zone that he never experience before.

Loved the first half of this show and the “reminiscence” of Clark becoming Supe and meeting Lois. Elizabeth Tulloch is the quintessential Lois. Exactly how I always imagine her to be portrayed. And Tyler Hoechlin is damn near the top of my list for favorite Superman. Just amazing chemistry and story arcs in this show.

Personally I dislike Lois falling for Clark initially instead of Superman, one of the things about her was moving past her lust for the god and finding love in the man(which is also why I prefer the identity reveal to be after she falls for Clark). I also dislike that she doesn't call Clark Smallville, it's understandable in present that it might be used sparingly or when flirting as a pet name but in the past she should've used it pretty damn often.
