As someone that got hypothermia on a snowy mountain and almost died, I can tell you that it completely mess up your mind. You start seeing things as completely different things, your thoughts get extremely confused, slow but also kind of panicked. You start thinking you should do things that make no sense to a normal person. And the scariest thing is, you don't realize that it's happening! I was extremely lucky to be found. Yeah hypothermia makes people do crazy stuff but idk how to explain people who wouldn't have gotten iso. The bodies that are found a lot of times don't show obvious reasons for death.

26:50 this reminded me of the case where a woman around 30 had a dream about her sister (who supposedly was ‘dead’) still being alive and asking her to tell her family to dig her back out. When she first told her family about the dream they thought she was insane and/or might have been going through depression but when she kept on trying to convince them they finally listened and went to the grave. After they digged it up they saw nail scratches from inside of the casket and turns out the woman’s sister was, in fact buried alive and died due to running out of air in the casket

Fun morbid fact. Back in the day it happened to a lot of people to a point that they tied a string on the “deceased” finger. At the other end of the string was a bell. If the bell rang they would dig the person up again
@laurfincher81372 ай бұрын
oh my... how horrible! The guilt... pain of knowing you killed your own family member like that... the poor woman... what she went through. This used to happen back in Victorian days and a trend of a string inside the casket tied to the body and leading to a bell above ground happened. I guess burying the living happened a lot. I still can't see how people do not know when someone is living or dead. Sure, slowing heartbeat means slowing pulse but actually stopping?

In middle school I had a dream where I was in a long corridor. It was lined with identical doors with identical plaques, except a different name was on each one, of family and close friends. Except one person, who I barely knew. I just kind of innately knew that behind each door was that persons worst fear. When I entered the girl I barely knew’s room, I saw my father, slumped against a light post, hitting himself in the head with a bottle and looking heavily dazed. As I was recounting this dream to my friends, this girl happened to also be there. Everyone was asking me what was in their door and laughing. She asked me, very lightheartedly, and when I told her she first looked shocked and then burst into tears. She said that her worst fear was that her dad would hurt himself while he was drunk. This was over a decade ago and I still shudder thinking about it.

I fully believe in prophetic/psychic dreams. Science barely understands the brain, let alone the dreams it creates. I would love to see science reasonably explain with multiple explanations and evidence why this happens. Why do siblings who didn't have any shared experiences that day have the exact same dream? How do you figure out the worst fear of a person you've never met? How do you predict a future event or find a missing person only through your dreams? It's amazing.
@SoftServe332 ай бұрын
@@icarus4302 I grew up in a Mormon household and had like zero experience with people drinking alcohol. When thinking about that part of the dream I just thought it was bizarre. The drinking connotation had not even crossed my mind until she told me her worst fear. She was kind of a friend of a friend of a friend, so she was around and we had been introduced but only were ever in the same room on rare occasions and by happenstance. I truly had no idea her home life was so hard. This rocked me. I stopped sharing some of my dreams quite so readily. I really hope she’s doing well now.

At 9 I called her the very second her car stopped after being hit by a semi and pushed miles up a highway-she says my voice snapped her back and kept her awake . Mind you I had literally been sitting watching TV and shot up like “I need to call mom” . Another time she was going on a trip and a few days prior I started panicking and begging her not to go-the people she went with each got into SEPARATE accidents and almost died . Ive thought about people from my past who I haven’t talked to in a decade or have dreams about them before they have died . I've had something similar to the "vision turns out to be correct" thing before. I live in the country and have several horses. Several years ago, I was playing a game (don't remember what) and I had over-ear sound cancelling headphones on. There was a thunderstorm outside that was pretty deafening as well. While I was playing the game, I swore I heard a scream come from outside in the pasture up on the hill. I couldn't have heard someone trying to talk to me from a foot away, let alone anything outside, but I was convinced I heard something. More than that, I was convinced that one of our horses, our pony, was dead. I still can't say why I connected that scream to the pony, I just did. I asked everyone else in the house if they heard anything and no one had (no one else had headphones either, and I was the farthest away in the house from the pasture). I waited about 15 minutes until the thunder and lightning calmed down, then I went out and checked. Sure enough, our pony had been struck by lightning and was dead. I had another incident where I had a very vivid dream that I was kicked by a horse (dream ended with the kick, don't know where it went after that). I didn't think much of it, but it's weird when I remember dreams so it stuck out to me in that regard (I have sleep issues - narcolepsy and bad sleep apnea, didn't have as bad issues at the time though). A couple of days later, I was in the barn walking through a stall (I had just put grain out) when the situation started to feel eerily similar to the dream. I had a bad feeling and moved to the side of where I was kicked in the dream, and sure enough one of my horses kicked the wall where I was just standing with both back feet hard - probably hard enough to kill me given the fact that I would have been between a wall and the horses feet (kick was at chest height). She wasn't trying to kick me, the pony (not the one struck by lightning) had snuck into the stall without me noticing (I was looking the other way) and the mare in the stall kicked at the pony over the grain and missed. I didn't even have a warning that they were about to fight, I just remembered the dream and decided I needed to move right then, even if it didn't make sense. I figured it was a weird little bit of paranoia and that I would think I was stupid after moving. I was shocked and quite scared when it turned out to be true. I know my mom has had a couple of dreams that turned out to be true as well (which she shared out loud before being proven correct), and I really don't have any idea how that's possible. I don't believe in psychics or anything like that, and I certainly don't think I or my mom are psychics, but I also have absolutely no idea how or why dreams could come true like that, or how I could know our pony was dead and think I heard a scream when I had absolutely no way to have possibly heard anything. Also, I know these things aren't just memories screwing up, I know that happens and people's memories conflate certain things, but I've asked other people since and they've corroborated what I remember (without any details provided by me). It's really creepy.

There are a lot of folk stories about the Susquehanna river. I grew up rather close and older people would always warn me and my friends to be extra careful. These warning mostly applied to a seperate river we spent more time in, The schuylkill river. Now there were the normal warnings. Beware of tides, broken bottles, old line, ect, but we got the occasional freaky story. An old woman seemed really interested in us going kayaking. She had assumed we were going to a local lake. When we told her we were thinking of driving to this one less popular section of the Susquehanna she looked terrified. She told us "I wouldn't do that. Sometimes the river takes you and you won't get returned". We tried laughing it off and told her we swan in the schuylkill river the current really won't be a bother. I don't remember what exactly was said after this but it started clicking that she was referring to both rivers as if they were sentient. Over the years i've met even more long time residents that don't trust the river. This is even freakier thinking about the amount of drownings we get. My father did water rescue and when i brought up these local rumors he started thinking about how many drowning cases he was called for that never yield bodies. Sometimes i go out of the schuylkill and i question if the history of this land has somehow tainted this water.

I have actually lived in a place where the "Oz Effect" happened all the time. We lived by a road but it would just go silent. I was so glad when I moved. That place felt . . . Dead. Idk how else to describe it.
@oddedd77552 ай бұрын
I experienced a phenomenon similar to the oz once. During college, I was doing an all-nighter finishing assignment at my friend's room and my cig had run out. It was about 3am. None of my friends are awake and I really need a cig, so I decide to go back to my own room a couple blocks away to retrieve another pack. During the back and forth, I noticed that the whole dormitory that usually loud, is completely silent. No bird or cricket sound or even student chatting, just silent. I got creep out a bit but thought nothing of it. After I got back at my friend's room, I just focused on finishing the assignment. Finished it around 4.30 and went to use the WC. Still eerily silent. Creep out, I quickly finished my business, went back to the room and slept. (only had 2 afternoon classes that day). That afternoon, my classmate said there is a loud laughing and door banging. Everybody in my class (excluding 2 of my friend which the room I slept at. They sleep like a log) said they heard it and when I asked what time it happen, they said it was 3 to 5 am.

I live in Colorado and regularly hike Booth Falls. And I regularly snowshoe in Vail in the winter. First: you definitely have cell service on the Booth Falls trail. I’ve posted pictures from there and texted. So that is super weird. It’s also steep and rocky - just not traversable in winter. As for the “oz” effect: this is super common in the winter in that area. You are too far away from the roads to hear any noise and most animals are in hibernation. On a blue sky day with no wind…it’s beautiful. And oh-so-quiet. I personally find it startling but awe inspiring because we are so used to even an airplane or car in the background alllllll the time so you really notice it when it’s gone. But it isn’t weird in a scary way. Much more like “oh I understand deeply that nature sleeps in the winter.” Now in the summer? With a million creatures in the forest? Different story. That would be scary….

The fact that these mothers had dreams make me so invested in weird phycological dreams like this, like for example maybe it was the mother that had the dreams since they were apart of each other at one point, or, something that has to do with ghosts, and how the spirits wanted justice. We will never know, it’s just extremely interesting and I would love if she did a full video focusing on those type of crime cases.

I once got lost in the woods as a little kid, and if I didnt have our family dog with me I could've been another missing kid. Family didnt even realize I was gone. Thankfully, our dog knew how to get back and I just trusted him and hung onto his fur with my hands while crying, not even really seeing the journey home because I was so upset. I remember the area I had wandered into the forest had changed so much the trees were all dead the underbrush was all sharp rocks pokey bushes super uneven ground, the slopes were getting steeper, and I felt so terrified. I have no idea how far I had gone and no idea how to get back. Our doggo wasnt well trained or anything, but he probably saved my life. He couldve just fucked off somewhere chasing a squirrel but he stuck by me and when he realised I stopped moving, picked the trail back up and led me out. Sun was setting as I came back to our cabin. Sometimes I wonder how long it wouldve took for anyone to notice and report me missing cause no one had realised i was gone or cared when I got back.

I live in Colorado and have lived here my entire life. I drive up to Vail, Breckenridge, & Dillon (all in essentially the same area) for hiking all of the time. I can 100% validate that these areas are prone to the Oz Effect. Most recently, this happened to me on the Blair Witch trail in Breckenridge. A friend of mine was with me. We were pretty far out on the trail, really early in the morning, no other cars had been in the trailhead lot, and we'd been hearing tons of birds & saw chipmunks/squirrels all morning. We both stopped because we felt that something was off, and after we stopped, all noise stopped too. The wind even stopped at that time. The only sound that started up after an extended silence was a weird bird call that almost sounded mechanical. Once the other sounds of wildlife started back up, we kept going, but still had an eerie feeling. About 20 minutes later, we were almost out of the tree covered part of the end of the trail loop. Everything went silent again, then we heard gunshots further back on the trail, where we'd just come from. This area has a strict firearms ban, so we freaked out and rushed the rest of the way down the trail. There were still no other cars in the lot by the time we got down. We took a lot of pictures during that hike because there had been a lot of weird structures along the sides of the trail. We had also seen some scrapes of cloth here and there. After reviewing the pictures we saw some anomalies in a few of them, mostly in the ones we took when things went silent. We didn't know what to make of all of this at the time and weren't sure if our minds were just seeing things that weren't actually there, in regards to the photos. However, I still have the photos, have never gone back to that specific trail, and this experience still haunts me.

Wtf?? 😵💫 [not in a negative way toward you or the comment... Like holy crap, what the hell, I don't get it... You don't either obviously] I don't like this.. This video has made me feel so anxious and now I am reading comments like this too. I need to get out of these Comments. What did these weird structures look like? @pumpkinkoot865 some of the structures looked like lean-tos but for giants (like there were whole birch tree trunks, chopped at both ends, that were leaned against pine trees to make a right-triangle looking shelter. These were at least 9-10 feet tall). There was also a 9-10 foot tall square pillar of stacked logs. It almost looked a built up fire pit or funeral pyre, if that makes sense. It was just weird to see in the middle of the woods, especially when they were as large as they were. To make them, there would have needed to be a pretty large group of people with lots of equipment and ladders, which would be really strange & difficult considering that trail is pretty rocky, climbs in elevation pretty quickly at thw beginning, & the uneven ground on which these things were built. It's normal to see small firepits & smoothed stumps where people may have done some legal or illegal camping, but these structures were nothing like that. As for the photos, there were a few where we saw some large dark shadows deeper in the woods that we didn't see outside of the camera. It had gotten pretty sunny at that point, so it was just odd to see large dark shadows in that well lit area. In one photo I could have sworn I saw a humanoid, lightly decayed skull or some other kind of humanoid head & eyes poping up from behind a log, but I couldn't pin point that log in real life. (I swear this thing almost looked like the wendi-nono's [saying the real name calls them to you, according to most of my Native American friends & family members, so I didn't want to write it in full] from the game Until Dawn).
@probablywatching_snc2 ай бұрын
@@PyrrhaStone that’s sounds really eerie, hope you and your friend are ok, what were your initial thoughts while you were looking at those pictures?
@PyrrhaStone2 ай бұрын
@dizzym3120 I just started second guessing everything & tried to see if we could debunk some of the stuff, but since we'd driven home before reviewing most of the photos, it was hard to say if the "anomalies" were really there or were just our minds playing tricks. However, with the weird feelings & and the Oz Effect (and both of us being superstitious/spiritual), we both simply agreed that we wouldn't go back to that trail, just in case. I still get chills when I look at the photo with the weird humanoid face looking thing.

Don’t hate so much the National Park Service rangers 23:17 ; as someone who volunteered for three years I know how extremely underfunded the NPS is. Every year their budget has to be readjusted because of cuts in funding. I know of multiple locations who have almost removed their junior ranger program because of such budget cuts. Every Park Ranger I have ever worked with cares so much for fulfilling their role as stewards of America’s heritage. However they are only able to do so much because of lack of support they receive from the country. Which is ironic because America claims such “pride” for these places. They are also most certainly not trained on active crime, only medical emergencies and search and rescue efforts.

Wanted to point out a factual inaccuracy in this video. The yin-yang image cited is _NOT_ an image of the quantum entanglement of photons. Researchers utilized a special technique of quantum entangled photons to _CREATE_ an image that looked like a yin-yang symbol, much like an artist might paint a yin-yang symbol using paint and a brush. It was created to look that way because that’s a random symbol they chose to create to demonstrate their work, not some natural manifestation of that symbol via observation of quantum entanglement. And I think that’s a pretty huge difference, and not some supernatural sign. Science!
@lizafrench84552 ай бұрын
Said the same thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Nobel laureate Richard Feynman supposedly said: “If you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics.” I think this is a fine representation of when a journalist writes a story but does not understand the subject.
