Hearing the child-like babbling in the first two clips of the "Death Tape" with Jim just completely disregarding their lives brings me to actually tears. Those poor babies.
@berniceboshoff15032 ай бұрын
Listening to the full tapes is harrowing. You can hear the children screaming in pain while he talks, while he tells mothers to keep poisoning them, that it will be over soon. People stand up and thank him for delivering them, and you can hear his smile while he talks them into an awful death. No one died peacefully except for him. It's truly awful. The only reason I sat through every second was because of those babies. Someone needed to feel the horror of their deaths, because their parents didn't.

Thank you for your treatment of Jim Jones. In 1975 we had an adorable, but really stinky, cocker spaniel named Bear. That great little dog saved us from fully joining the Peoples Temple on Geary Blvd. in San Francisco. My mom was always searching for religion and took us to the Temple for a couple of weeks. During sermons I was in a playroom down stairs so I don’t remember ever actually seeing Jones. About a month later my mom started getting pressured into moving up to Jones compound in Ukiah. My mom actually thought about it for a while. But Bear wasn’t allowed to go with us. Thankfully my mom loved Bear more than Jim Jones so we didn’t go. A couple of years later when I was old enough to start reading, the cover of Time Magazines coverage of the Guyana Tragedy was the very first thing I read besides kindergarten books. I loved that dog. ps. Thanks for getting it right about the Flavor Aid. I’ve always been annoyed by the use of Drink the Kool-Aid.

This is exactly what led me to learning about personality psychology. It turns out that there are a lot of people out there who experience reality in completely different ways than you do! Some of them have very little care for other people's feelings. Just that simple.
@aries1443 ай бұрын
Btw, this is why men think about strangers the way they do. You can also see this behavior in medieval European society. Small towns didn't like new people. New people brought potential distrustful behavior and lethal disease. Humans, at least Europeans, reduce stress via exclusion. Why do wealthy people live in isolated houses with guards and walls? Exclusion. Why do upper middle class people live in gated communities? Exclusion. Exclusion is how people reduce stress.

That guy was Jim Jones, before he became the cult leader. Even before he began his evil deeds my grandma knew in her soul that this dude was bad news and should stay away from him. After the lesson she told her friend that she doesn’t want to teach him anymore. We never knew about this till a little over a year after she passed away that my grandpa told us about it. Fun fact: The band Cultz, sampled the Jim Jones tapes. For their song Bad Things. This song later gained recognition after Jermaine Lamar Cole (I.A J. Cole) sampled the song she knows. That’s why if you listen closely to the song you can hear screams on it which is to raise awareness about the Jonestown Massacre.

Just bought sour boys candy and I am so impressed with the ingredients! We love the fact that there are no artificial dyes, that we even gave a small piece to our toddler and she also loved it. So thank you for making a healthy candy!

I love these videos, Kris! Also, your hair looks amazing! I was wondering if you could do a video on Ivan Milat? He's a serial killer from Australia. Thanks! Love your videos so much!

For your next true crime deep dive , could you cover the story of josef fritzl and the heinous things he did to his daughter? I love your videos and watch them very often. I would love if you covered the story, because it was basically my entrance to my true crime fascination. ❤ once again, i love your vids! ❤❤

It's about time!! I'm from Guyana and I'll be honest, the younger generations does not know this story beyond the fact that it happened. Looking forward to finishing this video.

Your deep dives are incredible. I don't know if I'm morbid but crime documentary is a thing for me. I've learned so much beyond everything in anything I've watched from your deep dives. Bravo my fellow Canadian. And l am especially grateful for you bringing attention to missing and murdered indigenous women though your deep dive into that evil pos Robert Pickton. You are amazing. Much love to you.

I HATE when people use the term "drink the Kool aid" because there are friends and family still alive who lost people.
@aihoshinoirl3 ай бұрын
I remember when kids used that term as a joke and I didn’t understand but now that I’ve grown up, I now know that it was a term related to the cult.

It's the best Macro phrase ever invented IMO. Nothing pubctuates the dangerous, charlatan nature of religion quite like "don't drink the Cool-aid."

Even though it was flavor-aid because it was cheaper.
