Yes, there is so much science that backs as to why dogs need both MEAT AND VEGETABLES in their diet. My dog once had vegan kibble (idk why I bought it honestly) and he had such a bad reaction to it, he became hospitalized for 3 days because of stomach issues and then after his hospital stay was over and he was discharged, I fed him beef and rice and he was completely able to eat and digest it. That’s his food to this day and I wouldn’t put him through so much pain and treat him like test subject just because of a lifestyle I CHOSE TO FOLLOW.

I agree about vegans who try to make their dogs vegan. I've been a veterinary assistant/technician for small animals for over 17 years, before that I worked with large animals, mainly horses, but I worked on a small cattle ranch of 40 head. We had a butcher do our cows, and no one EVER sexually abused any of them, plus we had 20 head of sheep. We sold and bought cattle. I loved the cows and took great care of them, but at the end of the day, you need protein (meat). Back to my current job working with dogs and cat. The FDA and actual veterinary cardiologist did a study about 6-7 years ago, because we were seeing dog developing cardiomyopathy with grain free diets and I have worked with around 26 veterinarians over the course of my small animal career and every single dog and cat out there must have some kind of actual meat protein and grains to survive and live to their actual life expectancy. Dogs are OMNIVORES!!!!! and Cats are basically CARNIVORES, WHICH they need a little bit of grain. I've seen a handful of dogs that come on our clinic, that are a "Vegan", and they are skinny with usually no muscle mass and can be a little messed up in the head because they are not getting the right nutrition for their brain.

I watched the whole video TVT did when it came out. What Kris didn’t mention in this video that really made me mad was her take on Kris going to see a therapist. TVT’s said that Kris is so very privileged because she is a wealthy influencer she has a roof over her head and a family that loves her she shouldn’t need to go see a therapist saying some thing about her being entitled and should not seek therapy. And I thought to myself this is a former educator whose main audience is children telling them that they don’t need therapy if they are in a family with a roof over their heads. When you eat a fruit, you eat a baby plants food. Have you ever eaten figs? In order for the flower to get pollinized, it traps a wasp and then digests it, and only then can the tree produce a fig. Plants are more alive than animals when you eat them, we literally eat living, breathing organisms whenever we eat anything that is not a dead animal, since the animal is not the entire living, breathing individual. Do you brush your teeth? The ingredients on every single comercial toothpaste, even vegan ones, stop the breathing of bacteria and protozoans in your mouth. They die choking. It is the circle of life, even without considering parasites and infectious bacteria and fungi, everyday we kill many living beings, all important to the environment. Regardless of diet, these are facts we should know and acknowlege. Just like we should realise that cows pollute the environment through methane emissions. I'm a biologist, the vegan teacher doesn't know as much as she claims and she chooses what facts to say, this is not someone telling anyone how reality works. Reality is way more complex and includes people who cannot be vegan or cannot eat meat for medical reasons that she says do not exist, without being certified in any way, shape or form in any health or biology area. She's not the "bad mom that sates facts", she's biased. Harsh facts are neutral and state the facts just as they are, without taking sides, and facts have pros and cons on everything. No diet is 100% perfect, and she acts like veganism is a perfect diet, which it is not. No diet is. And I'm sorry, but making fun of someone's pain and trauma is sick. Human empathy for other humans is a normal biological behaviour that also happens in other animals. Its simply the innate empathy for beings of the same species. Fungi will release toxins to kill everything around that is not the exact same species of fungi. Acacias will communicate via hormones to help nearby acacias so that they can keep themselves as safe as possible from giraffes eating them. Same here, I was sa (couldn't remember the exact time but it wasn't past 3rd grade but I do recall the exact excuse) and my brain didn't even register it until I started taking care of myself and losing weight. That's when I felt overwhelmed. I did talk with my therapist a bit about it but as far as it goes I'm still not comfortable talking about that event. I think the only mildly lighthearded thing is that my therapist said if she gathered a room full of people at least a good percentage of them would've been SA. I also hope you're doing better and have gotten the needed help as it's not something to go alone.
