That Chapter

5 жыл бұрын

Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are two Canadian teenagers currently on the run in Canada. But who are they? Let's look into this currently developing story, what happened to Chynna Deese, Lucas Fowler, Leonard Dyck, and what's going on in Gillian, Manitoba.
Also special thank you!

Very sad, humanity can be cruel. on another note, isn't it funny how when the narrator says 'three', he pronounces it 'tree', but when he says 'third', he still pronounces it 'third'?

He just gets a very brief mention, but the third victim was Leonard Dyck, who was a botanist if I remember correctly and an instructor at the University of British Columbia. Big news at the university when this happened. Apparently a very nice person. RIP.

@chris kibodeaux clearly you're the stupid one. You could get into a car crash today and with severe brain damage wake up an entirely different person, evil included. How do you explain the tons of parents with several children, all of whom turn out kind and functional beings minus the one odd one? It happens. Although many of the times parents hold a responsibility, and sometimes can even be directly to blame, saying such a thing about any and every parent who has had an evil child is ludacris and willfully ignorant. There's no logic behind it at all. Sometimes you have amazing parents who are good people and do everything for you, and you still end up a piece of shit. Some people are just turds.

bryer wrote me love notes when we were kids in elementary school. he was really nice back then, and seemed like a fairly normal kid. but he got bullied a lot. he was “slower”, and needed a teachers assistant all the way up until highschool. so when this all came up I really wasn’t surprised, although I hoped it wasn’t him who did it all, I still saw the innocent bryer in grade 3. there’s a picture floating around my town (port alberni) and he’s at a small house party with cam just a few days before they left, in his suit he bought supposedly for his funeral. cams girlfriend at the time was also supposed to go with them for the short trip, but then the day of he completely ignored all of her messages. it makes me sad about what happened, because cam was genuinely a really good person. people think cam felt bad for bryer and that’s why he was his friend, as bryer had none. I personally believe bryer brought cam into his dark world and cam couldn’t get out of it. the coroner was unsure of when they died but knew they died of self inflicted gunshot wounds. it’s believed bryer killed cam, and then himself. there was a camera with a few short videos, none of which explaining motive. and the rcmp won’t release what was on the videos. bryer had a horrible childhood, and felt like an outsider his entire life. I hope he found peace. I hope they all found peace. it’s a shame cam couldn’t escape bryer. if u took the time to read this thank u lol and plz don’t be mad at me for having a heart for cam and bryer

Huge kudos to Billy Beardy who was essencial in locating the bodies by way of crows from the shore. These two were on a suicide mission and wanted to take as many as they could with them. He was about to hop into his front seat and get out of there before anything happened.

I remember when this happened. I'm from southern Manitoba, so hearing about them in my home province was crazy. We knew they had made their way east, however, before we knew they were in Gilam, everyone was very unsure of where they were so everyone was on high alert. It was an absolute gong show to say the least.

I’m from Saskatchewan, and I’m seriously impressed with how well you pronounced it Mike!! People that live in other provinces don’t even say it that well! This was a devastating story here in Canada. I remember we all felt so bad for his father when we saw that interview. We never imagine our children would grow up to commit murder. We know our kids as our kids and we love them unconditionally. It was a heartbreaking tragedy and we all felt so sad for the victims and everyone involved.

This was so heartbreaking. So close to home. Canada is a wonderful place, but we have a lot of secrets. I grew up on Highway of Tears and you grow up knowing so much buried turmoil. When things happen in Canada, they're bad. Nova Scotia always has armed men on the lose, Pig Farmers, this, highway of tears... we have a lot of heartbreak here The way this one ended was so sad. Apparently both of the boys committed suicide by gunfire in August 2019. The NY Post article mentions something interesting: during an interview, schmegelsky’s father gave his son and his sons accomplice kudos for evading authorities. The mixed emotions in that kind of situation (parents of now-suspected killers on the run) must be wild.
