And just two days ago the Harris administration announced $157 million in aid to Lebanon. Ukraine - unlimited money for them. A port in Gaza - take our money! Money for Lebanon - take our money! Money for illegal immigrants - thousands apiece. CA tried to give them hundreds of thousands in free housing. Money for American citizens - the most I can do is a $750 loan. We're broke. But oh here's more money for Lebanon. We have money for that. If they can't afford more than $750 now, then how does Harris expect to follow through on her pledges about $6,000 she often cites (I forget what for. Maybe childcare) and $25k for housing loans? The middle east is always full of turmoil, and usually the US has some involvement, which is true in this circumstance. But we also need to face reality. Even if the US stopped giving israel (one of the only pro-western middle eastern countries) stuff, they would still carry on with the war. If the US embargoed Israel, it would drastically risk losing a major strategic partner in the middle east. Now you might think "who cares if we lose israel as our friend" and my response is, currently the US, China and russia are competing with eachother on the global scale of how many countries they can get in their corner. The more allies and countries under your influence, the better. If the US were to lose israel as an ally, the US's already collapsing influence in the middle east would plummet, and israel would probably fall under the influence of china or russia
