Nah. This is a skip for me like Saber, Ex-Aid and Fourze. Snack Power is way too farfetched for any sense of suspension of disbelief. Don't get me wrong, I get it. It's a teen show, but COME ON. How can you think Teen are that R-Word. A good KM series, in my opinion need drama - which is the core of every Kamen Rider - and a solid grounded story. BUILD is popular because of his war torn japan and the machination between Hokuto, Seito and Tonto (planned by Evolt) affect the main cast. GEATS hook you with the mystery behind the game while witnessing their total lack of human empathy for the "NPC", normal human who are just caught in the crosshair. DOUBLE is basically an Noir Show with Gaia Memory being an analog for hard drug where, like a Columbo movie, you know the villain but just want to see how they will take him down. Zero-One make you empathize with the Humagear cause it's the evil of human nature that give ARK the "in" to turn them evil which make you root for Aruto and Izu. It's sad, dark at time but isn't extremely goofy. But in GAVV, you get the transformation announcement with is peak cringe. The circus music playing as he turn his modified Build Driver. The form name after transformation. How he acquire it. His tool (Chip swords and a modified Road Saber from GO-ONGER). I just can't.

Shoma being a drifter and protecting people inspite of being feared of by them, all while rebelling against an evil organization, is kinda similar to the Showa era Riders thematically: man being isolated but still pushing forward. Very good thing to teach kids

And like them, I expect it to follow suit and have a really serious "THE EVENT" episode around Christmas where the narrative just becomes this incredibly tragic and introspective character journey. And if anything, NOT turning incredibly dark and serious would be the real subversive surprise twist.

Funny thing, when I first found out that Gavv had a candy motif, my first thoughts were “This is gonna become as dark as or darker than Gaim and/or Ex-Aid, isn’t it?” After all, Rider shows with silly motifs often have darker tones! As for my thoughts on Gavv itself, I like what we’ve got, and I already want to see more of what this “candy man” can do. (Because he mixes it with love and makes the world go round!)

I'd like to point out a lyric from the opening that might relate to Shoma as a character. The rough translation is "Sensitive to other people's issues but insensitive to your own", Shoma might be using saving others as Kamen Rider Gavv to run away from his own sadness, saving them even if they call him a monster because at least that's better then confronting the failure to save his mother.

I have watched other Kamen Rider series before (Kuuga, Ryuki, Zero-One, Geats and yes it’s out of order because Tubi is weird) but once I figured out how to watch other Kamen Rider shows, I decided that why not give Gavv a try. I got hooked with the first episode and watched the second, waited a week and watched the third. I guess I fell into the rabbit hole of Kamen Rider and I am not complaining lmao! Always happy to watch a kamen rider video, some entries are better than others but somehow every new entry manages to portray the same concept ( hero vs villain ) from a different les and point of view which ultimately makes it worth checking out if not watching to the end. You have some interesting points and even if I have yet to check out gavv, that was a clear explanation in your opinion as to what makes this entry worth watching. Keep up the great content!

@@wah3865 With Silly I mean the Vibe and Style OVERALL. It was serious, but not THAT serious. At the start those three were like most other Kamen Rider shows, having some serious moments or undertones, but it compansated with plenty of Humor. But then they went WAY SERIOUS with the themes and situation and the jokes and comedy was turn down more than usual

What is interesting is that Shoma is considered a monster for both sides, the 2 first episodes of the monster are basically addicts or more like alcoholics for their own society has the consumption of the treats normalized. But both fight with the "Monster" panicking and deeply afraid of Shoma, his aspect alone is eerie to them, like an uncanny valley effect, like something that is similar to them but has something is not right

I bet Toei watched the Wonka movie with Timothée Chalamet and they have the idea. *“What if Willy Wonka is Kamen Rider”?* I have not watched the Gavv yet I can compare Gavv and Timothée Chalamet’s Willy Wonka. Both are Kind and Cheerful person Both like snacks such as candies. Both have a fish out of water story. Both made friends with a kid including repaying kindness that given to them. The Girl Noodle helps Willy to sneak out and she teaches Willy how read in repaying for life time of Chocolate and helping her to find her mom. Both go against their kind. (Willy Wonka have go against other Chocolate business men) Both want to uplift others, as Soma wants to protect the innocents against the Garnets, Willy wants to share his chocolate rather than charging too money for chocolate. Both of their love for snacks came from their mothers. Yeah, I am 100% confident Gavv it is inspiration from Willy Wonka. Poppin’ Gummy! Juicy!

I'm having high hopes for Gavv. Unlike the previous season, Gotchard, which for most audiences started pretty slow but gradually picked up the pace later on (I enjoyed it from the start), Gavv seemed to hit the ground running from the start! Just going to put this one out since this video probably was made before episode 3 release, The secondary rider (Valen / Hanto) although conflicted , know that Gavv is protecting people , which would make it harder for them to clash right away (but unlike the current era , reiwa , that's bound to happen anyway , but atleast not hunted) and the Drak Treats are made of human and was confirmed , while they find people thag are happy just for the taste , hence premium spice .As the famous saying goes "money can't buy happiness". Also this also has similar vibe to W since so far it seems the antagonists are related to Shouma too so yeah , eonder how this will go going forward but I will be here from start to finish , just like I was with the previous rider , Gotchard (painfully)

On TV you'd sooner see another iterations of Power Rangers or TMNT with oddballs like Beattleborgs, VR Troopers or Mystical Knights or Tirnanog (?). Other two odd things: 1) Rider Kick? Yeah, our dub would change it to [Rycerski Skok] = Knight Jump. 2) We all knew the show as Masked Rider™,something here would have their titels untranslated and kept in english, yet on wikipedia it's [Gwiezdny Rycerz] = Star Knight. I was todays years old when i learned it.

The kamen rider formula was always fight with your own kind of people fight for what you think is right from original to faiz , Blade,kiva, W , wizard ,Gaim etc it always awesome to see every protagonists vision to fight with their own type of people to protect the humans I eager to see Soumas journey as a Kamen Rider. Gaav has a silly aesthetic, yet its portrayal of Shouma has me thinking of Kiva. Kiva (Wataru Kurenai), is considered a monster, yet he still also fights what is his own race to protect the humans. Something he ALSO IS.
