Why did it take this long for KZbin to recommend this video?!? (hint hint KZbin crawler if you're listening) This is perfect and should be recommended to anyone learning to drift in AC. I've been stuck on the basic drift track servers with people who are inconsistent for a few weeks now wondering where all the good tandem sessions are. Can't wait to try this out when I get back to my rig!!! Thank you!

I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to understanding how a car behaves from an outside view and reacts when drifting. When it comes to actual drifting experience I'm a complete noob. I've used a controller for drifting in many games for years and usually there's not a whole lot of throttle control most of the drifting is done via steering, but switching over to wheel I see that it's quite the opposite. Hopefully I can adapt and get used to the transition from controller to sim wheel.
@KameTrick2 жыл бұрын
Most games don’t simulate drifting well either, which doesn’t help 😅 Using a wheel and pedals kit, the only decently accurate sims for drifting that I’ve ever played were Live For Speed and Assetto Corsa. Everything else looks cool but isn’t particularly relevant to what actual drifting is like
@thegiovannimauro2 жыл бұрын
@@KameTrick I could drift with controller somewhat in ac, but it's not ideal and I've only used high HP cars with controller. I got a g29 and the WDT car packs. I used the Toyota soarer real quick to test it out and I was pleased to see that it was willing to slide with ~300hp as opposed the the DLC Supra (drift) which I had some trouble with despite having much more power to play with. It could just be that the setup is bad (bad default tire pressure or tune).

Aaron Jenkinson glad there was something helpful in here for ya. I know my regulars already know a lot of this stuff but part of the channel’s purpose is helping grow the scene and that means making content oriented toward beginners too✌🏻 I will day that the farther back in a tandem train you are, the weird the lines and position gets, until eventually you’re not really taking the usual line so much as trying to keep all 4 tires on the pavement while still keeping proximity and angle😅 Not sure I follow the lingo for a “dozo line” 🤔

Aaron Jenkinson oooh Japanese language, gotcha どいぞ line. I don’t think anybody says that but I get where you’re coming from now. In a nutshell the best lines for that are wide, predictable and slower transitions to make it easier for chase cars to approach with confidence. In the same vein is not transitioning to max angle but something safer to follow like 75-85%...I think all those things make it easier for the chase car to position themselves quickly.

There are always some servers using modded car packs and maps, so if there are *literally* none showing (even empty ones) then you need to check your filters as shown in this video...but I assume you’ve already done that. Any specific reason each server has limited number of specific cars to be driven? Like only 3 AE86 to be driven at one time?
@KameTrick3 жыл бұрын
It’s basically how AC multiplayer works. The server creator specifies not only how many users can join a session, but specifically what exact mod cars and how many of them there are. The developers did not make AC multiplayer in such a way that 20 people could join in 20 random cars of their choice. So if there are only 3 AE86 it’s because the server owner had to choose some number of them and that’s what they went with in the end 🤷🏻♂️

Hey man , having trouble joining online servers from content manager . Every time I click join it says “race cancelled” . It says I have all the car mods or track mods , could it be shader pack or something? @kametrick

Can u choose the livery Yourself??, I can only detect that its random
@KameTrick4 жыл бұрын
dennis van hees I believe the server creator chooses which livery is on car 1 of a certain type, 2, of that type, etc. so the driver can’t control it but the server side has some influence. Like you could have a team livery on slot1 of ever car and only tell your team the join link first, then let everyone else in and it would sort of work to Identify your crew, but that’s about the only unique thought I have about it for now, and it’s kind of a pain to do if you wanted to try it😅

How to find mod cars and maps starts at 11:01 If you fail at installing them, they won’t show up in your list of cars or tracks: Usually either that’s from an incorrect file path (there’s more than one Assetto Corsa folder so if you used the search feature and picked the first one instead of clicking through the way I show in the video, you could have the incorrect file path) Or it could be the specific mod’s folder structure: car/data will work. car/car/data will not work. Depending on who creates and packages the mod, there could be an extra folder, and since AC only looks 1 folder deep that is another common reason a mod doesn’t show up. Good luck! 🍀 If you installed them right but lack CM and CSP they will show up in your list but give errors such as “race canceled” Here’s how to install Content Manager: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5ekeopteNSYiNE Here’s how to install Custom Shaders Patch: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnyaf5KMltBop7M

Are the physics supposed to be different in the online servers? Everyday I go onto single and drift around for like 20 minutes, and then when I go into an online drift lobby, I'm extremely bad, and keep spinning out. I also have to steer a lot more, and with my G920, I feel like I'm going to snap it in half.

I'm getting a CSL Elite P1 Steering Wheel, CSL Elite Wheel Base V1.1, CSL Elite Pedals, and a Clubsport V2 table clamp before Christmas, so hopefully those help me out with drifting.
@KameTrick4 жыл бұрын
The upgraded gear will help, physics are not different in servers...that said there are some settings which could be different from your offline play including: Stability Control, Traction Control, Tire Warmers, track temperature and track conditions (track can start out slippery and get grippier as laps are run on it)

I think the most active server ist the drift junkies one cuz they drift without mods so anyone joins
@KameTrick4 жыл бұрын
efeharam lmao using base-game content is certainly a good way to ensure there are a lot of available players! I think mod servers bring an element of quality of quantity sometimes, but with this approach you can either go to the servers with the most drivers, or look up the most active servers running the specific map or mod cars you love so it seemed like a win-win😁 Thanks for dropping a comment! 🙌🏻

how do i find assetto corsa race servers?, seriously there should of been a filter for this inside the game. If you are wondering why i posted this here, it's because this was top of the search results , when i typed a question about race servers
@KameTrick2 жыл бұрын
There are probably differences between the race and drift scenes, but you could try searching the name of popular racing circuits or time attack venues, as well as sorting by connected drivers and just searching “rac” (to get both “race” and “racing” results) The second best bet is probably to look for race communities or organizers on social media…find where ppl with similar interests congregate to see when and where they drive. Last but not least, start a once weekly event at the same time every week and post it to those communities weekly…within a couple months you may be able to attract your own crowd of ppl who want to drive with you 🤷🏻♂️ Best of luck, the wheel to whee multiplayer aspect is where a lot of the fun is with sim driving ✌🏻

How do you join with your own mods installed
@KameTrick3 жыл бұрын
The server host gets to determine whether or not to run checksum on cars and tracks. Most do, which means you can only join if your mods are unmolested (e.g. no TandoBuddies physics on WDTS cars) You can either run your own server, find a server running what you want, or find a server running the cars you want without checksum on.
