Big lizards like this need a lot of space and habitats with branches to climb on, which is much more challenging in terms of providing the proper enclosure. Oh bless Pinky I’m sure she is going to have fun over at Jerry’s. She is such a character especially when you both would chill in her cage and she would climb all over you. I’m surprised you didn’t put the other croc monitor in pinky’s old enclosure near the house. It’s lovely to have the croc monitors in Laggie Lou’s old enclosure I know they will enjoy their extended holiday over at the Kamp. Take the bark off the trees and they'll last longer. The bark hides moisture and gives a place for insects to hide under. Those are some beautiful monitors!

Awwww---! Sad day to see Pinky move out but I guess it's for the best. She WAS the cutest water monitor Kenan had! As for croc monitors?!? Wow -- you have an obsession with these guys, don't you, Kenan? I hope your experience with them is better than it was with Little Agertha(msp). They already seem different. Out of the box, and they don't appear to be as ornery. 2 good eyes makes a difference it seems!

Try Universal Rocks in the new monitor's enclosure. They don't rot, like normal tree branches, and still look like real tree branches and stumps.

Fortunately all my family & friends in Florida are on the South-Eastern coast; Stuart, Jupiter, W Palm, Boca & Lauderdale so no major damage other than my brother’s pond flooding and a few pool screen enclosures going airborne. No animals lost either thankfully! Glad you guys didn’t sustain any damage either, living in NYC hurricanes freak me out. During Sandy in 2012 the facades of several row houses were torn clear off only half a dozen blocks from me exposing the entire interiors of all 5 floors! I just had a clutch of baby Star Tortoises hatch a few days before and (being late Oct) I was afraid the night temps would dip dangerously low. Every night as long as the electric was out I put them in a makeshift incubator; a small foil lined sweater box with long burning plumbers candles secured safely in each corner. This kept the ambient night temps around 78F and they were all fine! Perhaps name the one-eyed female “Blinky”. Then you‘ll have Slinky, Pinky and Blinky. Just a thought. Cheers!
