Kanab, UT serves as a central location for lots of great outdoor activities. I didn't film any of the amazing hikes we did in the area(sorry, next time) but we came into Kanab so could log into an online GIS class for an hour, so I took the opportunity to take you around Kanab. It's a fairly small little town nestled into the red rocks and canyons fo the area. Lots of slot canyons and national parks and state parks in the area as well as other public lands.
Walking tours for treadmill get the heart pumping without the adrenaline that mainstream tv has evolved to do. While our channel name is City Walks, we often branch out to virtual walks in nature and walking trails for treadmill. We hope to provide virtual walks for treadmill that help you relax instead of watching news or dramatic tv that is designed to raise your cortisol levels.

I love green lush places like the east coast but those tiny quiet arid western towns are magical. It's just enough trees and lots of sun making everything glowing and lighting everything up. It's different kind of beauty in the desert.

my friend and i spent three days in Kanab just a week ago. I lovedit so much, youve got to eat at the Rockin V Cafe, the best food ever! the service was great, and the desserts to die for! Shout out to Dustin, our friendly and attentive waiter. We ate at a few different places, the hotels are great, and the repair mechanicshop took good care of us when we needed a new radiator!

It really is and such a great area. Look up Buckskin Gulch, Kodachrome State park (near Bryce), Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, and I really liked Wild Thyme Cafe for food. Have a great trip. -H

As always Henry great job. I love walking with you and am always suggesting your site to my friends. This wasn’t my favorite place for a walk, not that much to see, but it was still nice. I could definitely pay the town a visit just to walk through and read all the placards. I grew up watching westerns with my dad. People like Big Jim Davis and Tom Mix are names that meant a lot to my dad and because of that to me. You asked about a map icon and I don’t think you need it as I think it would be distracting. Who knows, I could be wrong. If you try it, I’ll walk with it. Happy stepping!

Nice vid to get an idea of what to expect, it's actually a lot bigger than i thought it was going to be. We are heading out there next week is everything open and almost back to somewhat normal I hope. We chose Kanab to base for 4 days because it looked like it was smack dab in the middle of everything. Looks like renting a Jeep was a good call.

Henry thanks so much for the walk down memory lane. I lived in Kanab Utah in 1979-1980. I was just out of high school and my dad was going through some kind of midlife crisis and he decided we needed to live there. I grew up in Pasadena California. (Which now of course I'm looking to get out of here myself because everything is so crazy expensive and crowded). Anyway I didn't last long in Kanab. Don't get me wrong. Kanab is a great town to visit because it's central to so many amazing locations like Zion, Bryce, the Kaibab forest, the north rim of the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell. They are all within a couple of hours driving distance. It just not a place where I would choose to live full-time. Looking at this video I can see it's built up quite a lot. I worked at Aikens Lodge to earn money and make sure I could get out of Kanab. LOL! I'm actually ready to go pay it a visit again. Like I said great place to set down camp and then explore out from there. Love your videos. Keep going and have safe travels.

You sometimes mention about your son and his interest in maps. He may take a course in geospatial engineering, remote sensing or something. I like people with these kinds of interests. They are relatively rare.

These are all so nice. Are there 360 versions of them that I can watch with my oculus on the treadmill? 360 videos are the only way to go for me but there aren’t enough good 360 walking videos to keep me in supply.

@@CityWalks oh well, you’ll figure it out. :) Also, when you’re producing your 360 videos, can you please remember to check off the “keep camera front facing” button? Some don’t and it results in the 360 video randomly turning while you’re still heading in the same direction. This is very annoying. Especially if I’m on a treadmill. @@CityWalks I just thought of something. You could do one recording with the 360 camera and produce a regular video and produce a 360 video from the same footage! You wouldn’t need 2 cameras. :)
