Cavity wax. Now that is the real deal. The important thing is that it is sprayed where it's needed not just on exposed flat surfaces where water will not pool.

It is mainly used for metal but can be used for other purposes

It's a waterproof barrier coat. It's that FIRST. Epoxy putties are the same thing. Epoxy has excellent "sticking" ability think of it as waterproof glue. That's it. Don't be intimidated this stuff is your friend.

@@kandyman5315 I'm in the Marine industry. I do fiberglass repairs on boats. We use epoxy on a daily basis especially Awlgrip 545...it's the best. Epoxy sticks to sanded fiberglass and gelcoat and won't let go.

Great presentation. Could you please elaborate on why you use the fibertech fill over welds rather than regular filler? Is it because the weld shrunk or distorted and the thickness of filler needed is too thick for regular bondo? Why do you prefer it to the evercoat metal to metal filler? Thank you very much.

Big fan ya do super work ,in fairness I probably would have coated the whole back of the fender with 2 coats of epoxy, and maybe even a coat of raptor then wax , not original I know .. look forward to another cool paint job ..

I have seen only one example of lead work ever. Is there any way you can show someone doing repairs with lead? Does anyone still do lead at all?

Sorry no one I know still does lead work it was a danger to heath and was stopped years back

I've used it before on metal . it is not my first choice but will work to prevent rust

Hopefully the body man took the lead out of the quarter panel seams and actually cut out the rust on the inner fender brace.

I don't know what the availability of new fenders for this car might be, but I am confident reproduction fenders are not going to be anywhere near as nice as the original GM fenders.
