Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are listening to a suggestion in the comments by building vacuum pump tractors! These tractors will be able to drive along the field and automatically gather plants and seeds into the chests making harvest time a much simpler task! @darealkosmo

I think they're a different type of crate in the warehouse. Like, they also have hay or something, and some other stuff. They aren't the same at the crop crates.

i edit videos for some one, and the way we send long files across is through a google drive, it takes about maybe an hour or 2 to send a large file across, but its the quickest way we have figured out, hope that helps if you ever get a editer.

@Fandom Shipper And fertilize. I use them to fertilize mainly because doing a sensor setup is a more controlled and conservative method of fertilizing than me clicking everywhere hoping I'm being completely accurate. But being able to setup a rig to do it all helps a lot.

I still really want to see if they can put together a two person mini-tank for warehouse raids. One can drive and the other is the gunner. If they use the method Scrapman discovered it would make them really easy as well.

@@ronanbambrick9825 During Scrapman's survival series [SMS 86]. Scrapman noticed that if you're behind blocks (even glass) AND not in a seat, then Tapebots won't aggro you. So you can make a seatless mini-tank just roll right through a warehouse. Effectively it makes you invisible to bots.

You guys should start loading up on saw blades and put them on the farm wall spaced out a bit. Not spinning but just mounted on the wall to keep the bots away so they don't even have the chance to get a swipe at the crops close to the wall. This was definitely an awesome video though👍✔🙌

So I happened to read up about vacuum pump uses again, and realized you can also use the tractors for cotton and paint flower collection. Similar to harvesting crops, the pumps pull the cotton and flowers right in from the stalks. Maybe you already knew that, but I figured it couldn't hurt to mention it since you guys always need paint. (Note: I verified it on paint flowers in survival)

@tr3v0r With a max-level controller, powering one axle fixed in the middle, spinning 5 bearings a side, speed isn't an issue. Especially with the speed of a vacuum pump, a controller would work no problem.

I suggest taking (blowing up and hammering out) parts of various kinds (like wedges) out of a warehouse (cleared) and use them on your trucks or the vactors or ice resurfacer or skid steer. 1x1x1 wedges make sharp corners look better (hint hint nudge nudge).

After watching, I went into current SM Survival mode, and tested for soil duplication and bonus crop yield. I didn't get any soil duplication, or extra crops using two pumps on one switch, placed one block apart. Also, using the tractors for seeding is a waste of seed, considering the time involved and the seeds being destroyed if they are triggered to plant on a soil plot that already has a plant on it. Thanks for the vid, guys. Future kAN will be pleased.

Reposting this here in case people don't see it in Kosmos channel: Likely no one will see this, but if you have two vaccum pumps competing to pick up the same crop it will cause a glitch that duplicates the soil. When you go to plant and water the next time, the plant may end up in one layer of the soil and the water in the other and the crop will never grow. I found this out the hard way when I tried to create an automated farm and ended up with a ludicrous amount of soil. It took forever to fix it. Each pump can pick up a 3x3 area or if you have it horizontally a 3x2 area. So try to just use one on each vehicle or have them spaced so they don't overlap. The duplication glitch works on anything you can harvest including flowers and cotton plants out in the wild. You can build them up to the point that you can harvest thousands of flowers/ cotton from a single pulse of the pump.

I also had the dirt duplication problem in an earlier version. I just now tested it, and the overlap/duplication has been fixed. I only got one veg per plot, so am assuming the flower and cotton yield has been nerfed too. Good job with the heads up explanation.

@@styxstones2569 No extra soil. I used six plots, six plants, and two pumps. The pumps were only a block apart. I had the soil duplication in an earlier version of scrap mechanic, and made a vid on it, but it doesn't happen any longer.

I could easily see you guys making something like you have for the crop watering to suck up the plants (obviously lower to the ground). Depending on the way you laid it out, it could even be self organizing, like if you only planted the same thing in specific rows and had the vacuums on those shared rows all feeding into the same chest. That or just making an actual Zamboni with multiple chests stacked inside to gather everything faster. Either way, awesome video, and keep up the great work :)

Professional video editor here - We use servers similar to business/office setups. You can basically copy files to the server the same way you move a file on your own PC. We give clients permission to upload and download to a folder just for them (each client gets their own folder). For clients that we only do a small amount of work for we just use dropbox. Your video editing is on point though bro. I appreciate the amount of work you put in just to entertain us. I love your videos :)

For transferring raw video over internet. The fastest transfer is to first render the recorded video to reduce it's size. Then transfer directly with a transfer programs which can transfer at Gb speeds. Ofc it will depend on your internet speed too.

Kosmos tractor reminds me of like a go-kart or buggy. You should create some cool purpose built super tough buggy's or go-karts just for exploring. Make some waypoints around the world, that, in no particular order, that you have to go get, and see who's the fastest. I'd love to see some challenges between the two of you on this world!

You could make a trailer for the tractor and different trailers do different things, such as planting, fertilizing, watering and collecting, and have the trailers fold out to be wider to therefore cover more ground, but they fold back up to be smaller in storage, and maybe have a pump that allows you to unload the crops into a chest that could then through pipe lead to the seed storage and to the according chest. Finally you sort off doing the idea that i said about 5 videos ago but your idea is for the cookbots. The idea was for your chest is to add a chest at the bottom of tree house with the pipe going from the bottom chest to all the chest at the top. So you can empty all your stuff quickly but the craftbot can still get the stuff from that chest.

What you should do is connect the chests on the back of the tractor to more chests behind the current chest on the tractor and put vacuum pumps on those chests and make that vacuum pump plant therefore when you harvest the food the seeds will go threw the chests and to the planter chest with vacuum so when you drive you harvest and plant.

Build a moving walkway between your two treehouses! You have way more gas/oil than you need anyways, so that could be a productive way to burn off some of the excess.

You know, you can use the same vacuum pump to water the plants, the same way you would use it for planting. A chest can hold a lot more water than a water container, so this watering method may, in some cases, be simply better than using the specialized water parts. The only disadvantage with this method is that it needs a mechanical connection from the water source to the pump, or it must be filled manually. The difference between a water container's 5 stacks (100 water) and a large chest's 30 stacks (600 water) could easily make the option worthwhile if used correctly. Also, a vacuum pump waters more slowly, but planting and harvesting would occur at the same speed regardless. So... In the specific case of someone building an all-in-one, simultaneous harvesting-planting-watering vehicle, a vacuum pump would be the better watering option. But yeah, for a fixed structure, a water cannon rig works best.

I have a suggestion re: harvesting (I won't be offended if you don't think it's worth it, do what y'all want lol). You should build a single humongous tractor (like the size of the zamboni) with 10 chests. Of course you don't need to have pumps on every chest if they're all looped in to each other, but having 10 chests is way easier than running back and forth with a combined 4 between 2 small vehicles.

You could build a vacuum pump connected to a pipe that leads up to a bunch of connected chests so you dont have to carry them up.
